Right, but that was after the first statement. My comments are about a reaction to an apology.

Phils “apology” was ridiculous and extremely sanctimonious though

But yes, Chamblee was dramatic, but that’s kinda who he is too

How so? I’m by no means defending KPMG, but if he’s supposed to be playing on the PGA tour and he isn’t, why would they keep paying him?

So lets cut ties with our biggest endorser of the last 25 years because of hypotheticals with a near 0% probabibilty. Polo cutting Thomas made more sense because he actually said fig not hypothetically.

It makes zero sense unless the Saudis made some phone calls because their feelings were hurt.

KPMG is a huge sponsor of the LPGA, which has a partnership with the PGA tour. Phil is actively shitting all over the PGA Tour and trying to basically bury it

Why would KPMG stick by his side?

And what if he was a silent partner/investor in the Saudi league and has a shite ton tied up in this?

Talking about stuff isn’t expensive. It’s not like they have to buy a bunch of stuff in advance.

No more Amstel Light for Phil. They just dropped him.

Could people be more dramatic about his comments?

Huh?

Are you saying Phil didn’t shite all over the PGA the last month? Hell, even in his “apology”, he took another shot at the PGA

Come on, Phil...right out of the, "I fricked up and now I need to backtrack playbook".

Oh nose a dissenting opinion that many players probably have off the record

Im not sure what you are failing to grasp. If you have a dissenting opinion against one of your main sponsors, and you go very public with it, they are going to drop you…

Sure, but it was worse than his reaction to the original poor words. I think he spit a couple of times

What if the Saudis offered him part ownership of the league and he bought in? Could he not be a silent partner with a financial stake? Might explain why he went so hard at trying to discredit/trash the PGA. Again, just wild arse speculation.

More on this. From 2018,

quote:

“He and I don’t see eye to eye on anything,” Mickelson said

quote:

“I just like people who build up the game. I view this as we’re all in the game of golf together. We all want to grow the game. We all want to make it better. And I feel like he’s made his commentating career on denigrating others. And I don’t care for that. I like people who help build the sport up and promote it for what it is, rather than tearing down and ridiculing others.”

quote:

In 2014, after Mickelson used the occasion of the U.S. Ryder Cup team’s loser’s press conference to call out the U.S. captain, Tom Watson, Chamblee lambasted Mickelson’s tirade, calling it “as close to a one-man mutiny that I’ve ever seen.”

quote:

“If you’re looking for a reason why the United States continues to lose, you just saw it in one man: Phil Mickelson,” Chamblee said

quote:

The following year Chamblee said that Mickelson didn’t deserve to be a Ryder Cup captain because he didn’t exhibit enough passion for the event.

So, Brandel has history and an apparent bias. For those reasons, he should have tempered it a bit instead of getting red in the face and digging up shite that had zero to do with the current issue.

But he didn't, because he's a fricking douchebag.

This was a long time coming. The PGA needs to get it's head out of it's arse and realize the euro tour can easily compete in terms of purse and level of competition. The one issue they will face is sponsorship, and I'm not convinced the Saudi tour can compete.

Rory said I don't want to kick Phil when he's down except right in the balls, then in the teeth, then in the ribs, then i'm gonna curb stomp his head

The average purse in the PGA this year is $9.1 million. The total purse for the Euro tour is $200 mil over 47 events, so a little less than half of the PGA tour.

Well what do you suggest they do?
