The pearl clutching on the golf channel makes me want to watch these Liv events even more.
So you admit it's the drama, not the golf, that excites you. Glad someone can admit it

Everyone is following DJ/Phil. No one wants to watch Phachara Khongwatmai no matter how many birdies he makes
This will change once more talent joins. You don't think there are unfollowed groups on Thursday in a PGA event?
Really bad take man.

DJ gives a couple strokes back with a double.

How much of the RBC are you going to watch today? Have you watched any of rory's 1st rd?
I also take a few weeks off each season. Meaning I just catch a couple hours here and there, mostly the Sunday finish.
The RBC is typically one of those weeks.

That's not the "take" I was making with that statement.. That was made in response to another poster saying crowds are only 1 row deep at the LIV event.

This is a good point I was wondering as well. With just a 48 man field, what is the process for adding more guys from the PGA? Are they going to have to kick some of these other guys off? Where are they going to play? Anyone heard anything regarding that?
Congrats. Sounds like you have figured out that this is not good for golf fans long term.
What happens if LIV is “successful” and next year they have a ton of players head over. 48 man field and now Hudson Swafford doesn’t make the invite list. Does he get demoted down to the Korn Ferry LIV Tour? No… no he does not. Because that does not exist. Will LIV create an entire system of developmental tours? I’m guessing no.
Meanwhile, as punishment for joining LIV, he is now serving a 5 year suspension on the PGA Tour and its feeder tours. So now he is in golf wasteland. He could go play low level mini tours with $20k purses. But what is the point when you now have $30M in the bank from one year of work? More than likely, his golf career is over now.
And now you have some players see what happened to Hudson and gamble on themselves and go to LIV while others stay with the PGA Tour. And ultimately you have a diluted product with half the best players in the world at LIV and the other half with the Tour.
Is that a good thing for the golf fan?

So why would you say "I doubt you watch 2 hrs of this" while you're watching 0 hrs of the PGA today?

I haven't clicked on it, because I'm not going to support this tour, but on my home YouTube page it is showing that the LIV Tour currently has 96K watching. Would that be considered good for a Thursday morning? Doesn't sound that bad to me, of course it is still in the novelty stage at this point.

And that's only YouTube, there's Facebook and their website as well.
So if there is even distribution, yes 300k would not be bad for a thrusday morning

feel like I'm reading a press release from Donald Trump after the USFL was formed
USFL is in the same country(market) as the NFL. Paid LESS
I get what you're trying to say.
But man, DEAD LAST gets 100k, from what I understand
Again, I have no clue if the financial model is sustainable, but why wouldn't Dustin Johnson go? He's gonna DOUBLE his lifetime PGA earnings in 2 years, guaranteed. He could literally win every tournament on PGA next year and not make that!
Question, the PGA sure doesn't take this stance for the US Open. Why is that?

not my job. It's as easy for you to watch live as it is to post on this board.
The watch threads are needed for PGA bc it's not live for everyone until 2PM today

The LIV financial model is "sportswashing". They aren't expecting any real ROI on their money as long as it accomplishes the PR goals for their country.
I haven't blamed DJ one bit, but it doesn't mean I have to support him any longer. He took the money and good for him, but I'm done with him. Not that he gives a crap about me.

Chase Koepka at -2. Just missed a birdie putt to tie the lead.

96k seems solid
I imagine a lot of Asian folks are tuning in to see what their entire tour left for

Good putt for Phil to get back to E. T7 with 11 holes left
