Maybe the price of Stich shirts will go back down now that he won't be wearing them (I assume he will have Reebok shirts). I remember a few years back I was able to get a few polos for $25 a piece with some combo of discounts.

LIV working towards a broadcast deal with FOX for 2025 events.

The story noted that Scott O'Neil, the expected new CEO and commissioner for LIV Golf to replace Greg Norman sometime in 2025, teed it up in the Crypto.com Showdown pro-am Monday in Las Vegas alongside Alan Gold, the head of sports media at CAA Evolution, and Jordan Bazant, the EVP of business development and media for Fox Sports.

3 spots remaining & maybe 1 wildcard spot assuming Hudson Swafford is out

South African Team Stinger GC re-signs “relegated” player Branden Grace

Bubba’s Rangegoats GC “complete” their roster signing Ben Campbell from New Zealand who served as a reserve player for LIV last year. This confirms that Bubba is returning.

Unsure about Hudson Swafford’s status as a wildcard, but only 2 full time spots remaining, 1 each on Rahm & Sergio’s teams. Max Lee, winner of the LIV promotions event, still needs a team

Seems like pretty much no big names swapping over before the year huh? Kind of surprising they didn't throw a boat load of money at someone just so they could have some news.

Seems like it. There were early rumors about Sergio going after a big name after not resigning Eugenio Chacarra.

Last year, the Tyrell Hatton news didn’t come till the week before so they still have time to do something

From the biggest liv supported on Twitter

quote:

Despite finishing in the “Drop Zone” and being relegated last year, Branden Grace is back on Stinger GC and will return to the LIV Golf League in 2025. Bubba Watson will also be back on the Range Goats, meaning half the relegated players will be returning.

With no player being automatically promoted via LIV’s pathway, the International Series, the automatic promotion and relegation to and from the league is a complete farce. They might as well get rid of it altogether and make the team’s selection process fully autonomous. The current system is just a token effort to satisfy the “closed shop” criticism.

That ain’t good baws

Unfortunately, this off season has proven how little they care about the competitive aspect of the league and is proving the doubters right. One automatically promoted player who isn’t even on a team, and half the relegated players are back. They’ve also forced out a previous winner who is one of the best young talents in the game. I hate everything about it.

True, I think it was only there initially to help the fight for OWGR points. That door has been closed for awhile now

What do they win?
Their system is now inaccurate & will become less and less meaningful

LIV golfers still getting special invites into the Majors despite not meeting the OWGR qualifications

The rumor awhile back was someone in the top 10 of DP Tour would be joining LIV.

Apparently that’s 22 year old Tom McKibbin from Northern Ireland joining Rahm’s team.

Allowing numerous relegated players back is pretty disappointing. IMO, that was one of the best parts of their format. The league is criticized for lack of talent at the bottom of the field, well there are consequences for ending up at the bottom. Turns out there isn't.

Bubba I can almost understand since he was a captain and a bigger name so they could make it work. But Brenden Grace, come on man.

They signed him to a 2 year contract too

It’s looking like Pat Perez & Chacarra, who both finished above the drop zone in the “open” zone will most likely be off of teams for 2025. Technically only the top 24 finishers are safe for the next year. And of course guys with multi-year contracts

One thing that hasn’t really ever been explained is how all of the alternates and wildcard players work

Found an interview where Bubba was talking about the “closed shop” & relegation stuff was only for the world rankings. Seems like they are passed that now

quote:

“My dream scenario is play next year,” the two-time Masters champ added. “I’m the owner, if I really want to I can put myself in there. We’ve got to just see what’s out there, what’s available.

“The LIV Promotions was about world ranking, changing out the people. But with no world ranking points we don’t need to change out the people. Let the captains dictate what is best and let us hand pick who we want. That’s how you do a team in any sport.”

Sergio has signed 22 year old Spaniard Luis Masaveu. Has played in International Series events & tried to qualify through LIV Golf Promotions event in December.
