I've played it a bunch. Phenomenal course tee to green, greens were designed by Marvel comics.
Leave ego home, bring lots of patience instead.

Would be the best course in Louisiana

I have played it a few times. It has always been in GREAT shape. Their logo resembles ANGC. I laughed about it. Then played it. I have only walked around ANGC for a Monday practice round but the conditions at Mystic were as close as I have ever played. It is a very difficult course & a couple of really tough greens (#14 may be the craziest of them all). But it is for the most part fair. As has mentioned before, make sure you choose the right tees & enjoy a tremendous golf course.

My buddy and I played in early November. Drove from BR for a work thing, straight to El Dorado. It was like a 1:30pm tee time, Wednesday afternoon...no one around. Felt like we had the course to ourselves. It was pretty chilly and windy, but mostly I did not expect the greens. I have never played greens like that and they ate my lunch. Took my 89 PROUDLY and got out...but man what a fun track

No doubt
I wish black bear was in Monroe or Jackson. Put that course in a bigger town and it would thrive.

Unless I’m in command of all 9 windows, I’m going to need the 4 or 5 ups.
How many tees do they have?
7?

So what's the best strategy? Just hit it at the middle of every green?
I've read online the greens are domed like Pinehurst #2. This generally accurate?

That's usually my strategy no matter where I play!
I don't have command of the 9 windows enough to shoot for the 9 landing zones of the green.

This board needs someone to take this as their user name.

The greens are not like #2. There are huge valleys in some of them. A lot of them are fairly calm but generally they're firm and fast and all of them have some slope so sometimes you don't know if you've hit a good shot or not til the ball comes to rest. There are couple of holes where I've hit a sand wedge, landed within 5 feet of the hole and wound up in a hazard.
So , yeah, I suppose hitting the center of the green is best strategy without knowing the course.

‘Twas a great day. And such a great course.
Can’t wait to go back.

I've played it over 20 times and although I played the 2nd set of tees and hated the place and swore never again...I swallowed my pride and moved up to 6100 yds now I really enjoy the place. I played it the Wednesday after the Southland Conf Ladies Championship finished up that morning and and in pro shop the signed said green speeds ....12.0 when u normally play a course with 8.5 ...thats fast as shite... the Sunbelt Men played the Sunday after the SLC and the course record held by Sam Burns(67) was broken by a Player from ULM Mickel Schmitt who shot 66 then went 85-77...Yes its a tough but beautiful golf course. They have a special 2nites and 3 rounds of golf for 309 per person dbl occupancy ..staying at the Hilton downtown. Nice value for sure.

My thoughts are if you are good you will not break 80 and if you suck 100 is par for you.
It's the most difficult course I have ever played. On the backside they have a par 3 if you hit a perfect shot next to the hole and it's about to stop. The ball will think it is in Augusta Georgia and will slowly roll and roll and roll into the water.

Love Mystic Creek, one of the nicest courses I've played on. They just got a new clubhouse/pro shop too. I haven't been out there since, I would imagine the price went up a little bit.

Price is now $69 plus cart on weekdays and 89 plus cart on weekends...so yes prices did go up .. but still a great value
