Interesting concept of what a deal might look like between both tours.
I’ve never been convinced that LIV will simply go away or be added to PGA schedule like the WGC’s. LIV can simply align their schedule for 2026 with some of the PGA’s signature events

Just to follow up, more shorts in Hong Kong & Singapore. That’s 4 out of 4 tournaments

Listening to some of the insiders it sounds like a deal isn’t as imminent as has been reported.

There’s some speculation yasir wants to play hardball and the pga is going to engage. Yasir was apparently insulted by one of the proposals and now views this as personal between he and monahan.

The PGA believes if they can break up the Bryson, brooks, Rahm trio they will kill LIV effectively.

We’ll see what happens but it doesn’t sound good for the fans for the time being.

At this point I have somewhat forgot about the players that left. The big signature PGA events are fun

And it seems that the ratings for the signature events have bounced back this year as well. So I can see why the PGA isn’t exactly jumping for the deal anymore

The LIv guys also speak as if it’s all sunshine and rainbows there so I don’t see why there and the deal either

At first, I missed certain players, but as the years have passed, I don't anymore. I still would like to see Brooks, Bryson, Rahm, Cam Smith, and maybe a couple of others play, especially when I attend The Memorial every year. But other than that, I’m happy with who is playing on the PGA now. That said, I wouldn’t mind if they came to an agreement.

Them leaving hasn’t really affected any of my joy of watching the PGA tour. Out of sight, out of mind.

This. I'm a casual watcher of the tournaments that aren't The Players and the Majors, so I don't sit there on a Sunday afternoon of Bay Hill like damn I wish Brooks, Bryson, etc. were playing in this tournament.

Then when the majors come around and those guys are there, I'm just like oh cool.

Opposite for me.

I'm just getting back into golf and these tournaments feel kind of watered down to me.

Players should have Rahm, Cam Smith, Brooks, DJ, etc.....

I don't mind the older Europeans missing or Mickelson because he is over 50 but I do miss seeing the guys in their prime who defelcted to LIV.

Rahm and Bryson are the two I miss.

Brooks I get to see in all the majors which is all he ever seemed to worry about anyway. Same for DJ

Cam smith has fallen off the earth.

add Bryson and Serge, who's also been great at Sawgrass.

The big events just haven't been the same. But those guys did this to us fans.

Definitely agreed, and the PGA Tour is missing something without those guys + Niemann and Hatton.

Is in a free fall with no end in sight. Don’t think he’s ever going to be relevant again at the highest level. He’s the poster child for got his bag and ran.

Put me in the ‘this will never happen’ camp.

Seems to me like they’re gonna just continue to make a headline every couple of months or so with the ‘we’re getting closer’ narrative.

But I think the PGA Tour is fine without LIV players for now and they’ll just wait out their contracts and let them all come back to the PGA Tour after their contracts expire.

Your post is really poorly formatted but I guess you're talking about DJ...who just finished T5 at the last LIV event.

his other finishes this year are 44, 31, and 54. The fields have 54 players. Those aren't good numbers. He finished 14th on LIV last year. After winning the first tournament on LIV last year, he finished horribly. In the majors last year, he missed the cut twice and finished T43 and T31 in the others. DJ has been playing less than great for over a year. For the standard he set, he's not been good or even close to what he used to be. He's ranked 160 on data golf now. 1 top 5 finish on LIV doesn't just erase everything else, although it did boost him 46 spots on data golf, but he was 8th at the start of 2023. That's a pretty massive decline

I was on my phone in an Uber, so apologies for the formatting.

DJ is 160th in Datagolf and dropping like a rock. Right there with Jacques Kruyswijk and Davis Chatfield. He turns 41 in June and clearly doesn’t give a shite. LIV results don’t really mean jack squat given there are about 10 - 12 truly globally relevant players on there right now.

They would be crazy bow to make a deal. Wait it out and see what happens with the big names coming up on contracts

Overseas, LIV Golf held the final round of its Singapore event, which aired late Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday morning on the East Coast. Joaquin Niemann’s win averaged a paltry 34,000 viewers on FS1

quote:

For every one viewer that tuned into LIV Singapore, 100 viewers watched the Players Championship. For a sport like golf, which is already considered niche, that type of gap is hard to fathom.

And it’s not as if large audiences are allergic to watching live sports late at night on a cable channel. The same night that LIV Singapore aired on FS1, Formula One’s Australian Grand Prix averaged 1.1 million viewers on ESPN. That event actually began an hour and a half later than LIV Singapore, even more of an unfavorable time slot for American audiences.

LIV has money, but zero cache which is what the Saudis want. PGA tour weathered the initial storm and have the upper hand now
