I agree w the OP 100%. For people who are supposed to be media savvy the PGA Tour has played their cards poorly.

Agreed, but if the LIV players bring lawsuits challenging PGA suspensions, the gubment will be involved.

That is fine, but they claim the PGA Tour is a monopoly and file an anti-trust case.

Anti-trust laws also address business practices.

There are currently other tournaments with these issues that receive points.

I enjoy watching the LIV more than PGA's typical event because the LIV coverage is just non stop golf with no commercials, random interviews, fluff pieces, etc. It is great. it wont last forever but I am going to enjoy it for now.

This. You see 3x more golf in a 3 round LIV event than an entire 28 hour telecast of 4 PGA tour rounds.

I like to see other guys hit shots on the course than every shot by an injured Tiger limping around the course on a smooth 78.

Sure. I have a dinner tonight. I’ll shoot you an email tomorrow. I assume it’s about the estate question?

So your issue really isn’t with the PGA. It’s with a shitty broadcast partner like NBC that controls the production.

Hate to tell you, but they’ll frick up LIV too if LIV ever gets a network to broadcast their exhibition.

Yep. The LIV guys here keep saying don’t worry they will get a big TV deal.

do they think that network is going to pay them 100s of millions of dollars for nothing? It will be the exact same or even worse if they are going to make it viable long term. Probably worse because they aren’t going to be able to dictate their terms to the network.

I personally don't have any issue with a player playing on the LIV tour, I find it a bit silly to belittle or trash someone for bettering thier career in the sense of income and a schedule that allows more free time.

What I would hate to see is deserving golfers being denied entry into the four majors because of the PGA tour's influence and distain for the LIV tour and it's players. It would in a sense cheapen the majors by not having the best players compete because the Tour is butthurt.

Wasn’t it cool how the R&A wouldn’t invite Greg Norman to the Champions event, and they made Phil Mickelson feel unwelcome? How bout when they told the LIV players there would not have any media interviews in the week leading up to the tournament? The R&A was like “we aren’t here to talk about LIV.”

But then the two big stories of the week were the Head of the R&A talking about LIV guys perhaps getting blocked out of the majors, and Tiger Woods explaining why he is against the LIV Tour.

Isn’t that nice to censor the LIV guys, and then prop up those to bash it? Moves like that have me pulling for LIV to succeed.

Tiger’s sudden hate for the LIV seems contrived. It looks like Rory was getting all the love for being the PGA’s mouthpiece and blasting the LIV tournament. Tiger can’t let Rory get all that media love so he has to pontificate, then goes out and lays an egg on the golf course. I love a tiger but not sure why he has to pimp for the PGA.
