They just showed that famous shot of Jack Nicholas hitting a 1-iron 219 yards at Pebble Beach in 1972 to within 6" of the cup to win the U.S. Open.
That reminded me of an old saying my dad told me way back in the 70s when I was just a kid.
He said - Just remember son, whatever you do throughout your golfing life, DON'T EVER bet against an old man with a deep tan, squinty eyes, and a 1-iron in his bag.
Definitely words to live by!

DAMN! Rahm with a double bogey on 18 to finish the third round in second place one shot behind the 2 leaders....

Had he not doubled 18 yesterday he would have gone in today as solo first and think he would have played a bit better..... and I’d have a new driver
Hopefully they do it again for the open championship. Otherwise we’ll wait for next year.
