I think you’re thinking of either 10 or 11. Tee shot was over canal on 10. Approach was over canal on 11.

I started playing there when it first opened with Dale, Dick and Joyce Janes. It took a few years but the subdivision filled up with homes - seems most of the kids went to Woodlawn? The course was modern and well kept for years back in the day - real good money games - Burt Burdick, Jack Slocum and the golf pros there did a great job promoting - hosted a lot of LGA events and State Amateurs - I played in a couple of them. As the course changed owners and the housing filled up the course just could not support itself...sad to see it go away.

I remember a few of the holes - the one that could be intimidating was I think number 1 over the canal.
1 was a nice dog leg left with OB left, trees way right and a large pond in front of the green. That green was extremely grainy.
Pretty tough opening hole.

I played there most days between 94-99.
First initial J? Or KC?

I thought Briarwood had the toughest starting hole around.
That was back in the days before I learned how not to slice every drive.
I lived in the pond on that 1st hole

JK, I remember you.
Y'all called me bones. You and I traded drivers one time as kids.
Small world.

Was the driver the original Big Bertha? Those were good times. Not a care in the world and playing golf all day everyday.

I haven’t really used google earth much, but how would I be able to see the course this way? It’s currently updated with the houses.
I worked and golfed there a lot in high school and was really bummed out they sold the course. So many memories there.

I think you may need to download Google Earth. It's free and you can add a timeline view. Here is hole #4.

They’d put the pin just over that big trap in front and you had to be just right with your second shot. Short you were in the trap, long you were in the back trap or down behind the green.
It was a fun hole.

I knew I remembered a fairway bunker on 4! Look at how tight that fairway is and how small that green is!
