Mallets are a different look for a blade player when things are cold, I usually dump them and go back to old faithful after a month or two, it isn’t the putter it’s the stroke….. whatever makes you start it on line best then use it, most peoples problem like mine is reading greens, I usually blame white cans.

I’ve been playing the same mallet since 2007.

Newport 2 checking in. frick all that mallet nonsense. I'm a terrible putter because I can't read greens to save my life...not because of the style of putter.

I use a Spider, but every so often I break out my 8802. I just have a much better touch distance wise with it.
I don’t miss very many 3-6 putts with the Spider. Really easy to hit my line with it

Mallets can cover up putting errors.
Much easier for me to lag a 30 footer with a mallet.
And it has enough mass for putting thru the fringe.

The big thing with mallets is the higher MOI so on off center hits the ball still travels a similar distance. With blade style putters we all know if you miss the sweet spot the speed is not consistent, So just like drivers, putters become more forgiving and consistent with more MOI. I still use a answer style putter even though I own a few mallets. I am just used to the look of the blade so I stick with it. When my hands are shot in a few years I will be ready for a Mallet with a big arse grip.
