The is heartbreaking for such a great course.
Here is a portion of their update :
Due to excessive rainfall, our reopening date has been pushed back slightly to the first part of September. Despite this setback, our team has been working tirelessly. We have successfully removed over 85 million gallons of water from the course—equivalent to about 130 Olympic-sized swimming pools holding 660,000 gallons each . In addition to water removal, we are also tackling the ongoing removal of excessive amounts of trees and debris.
Our maintenance efforts include greens and fairway aerifications and applying soil amendments to alleviate stress in turf areas that have been underwater for extended periods. These measures are crucial for restoring the health and playability of our course.
We also will be undertaking a bunker renovation project, as the bunkers have sustained significant damage. This work will be ongoing over the next few months but will not affect play. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete these necessary improvements.

One of my favorite tracts in the area. A couple of weeks ago the plan was to open up mid to late August. Last weeks rain must of really set them back. I just hope that they can financially survive this. Anyone know who owns the course? The must be hemorrhaging money right now.

The City of Lake Jackson owns it.
I'm hoping that they have some sort of re-opening tournament to get the word out.
A friend of mine marshall's there so I will get updates.
That was an enormous amount of water on the course. I'm sure the mosquitoes are huge right now.

I was about to say you can probably pick that course out from the moon by the amount of mosquitoes swarming if they got that much water.

Monumental task, I’d imagine.

I'm supposed to go play with some friends from down there and play at Freeport this week. I'll have to get 5 gallons of mosquito repellent just to get through the front 9.

This may be my favorite public course in SE Texas. Rooting hard they recover.
