I’ve defended Wolff on this board every chance I get and the dude is a stud. He’ll be just fine long term and get used to seeing him at the top!

That said, him having a tough time with the tour doesn’t really surprise me. He’s not from the typical background of a guy with his sort of talent. Lower income family. Not country club type. I know there were murmurs he’d struggle if he was grinding early in his career because a lot of people have backed him over the years. He’s probably the outsider in a lot of rooms he walks into.

Also,, one of his boys from college is the complete opposite and about to be a major name on tour as well. Keep your eye out for Austin Eckroht in the next few years.

Do you travel 30+ weeks a year only getting paid if you perform better than the other world class talent around you with the threat of relegation? Not to mention, you're 22 and subject to daily Covid tests and mandated to go directly back to your hotel room and get Uber eats.

Do you wonder how you are going to pay your bills at the end of the month or get your power shut off?
Do you wonder how you are going to work and take care of your kid with special needs?
Etc.
Etc.

There are ALOT of harder things in this world than traveling around playing a game that most people play for fun and relaxation.

Which is totally irrelevant to the pressure he's feeling.

Having a "I have this stressor and it's more valid than yours" contest is stupid

Anxiety, depression, substance abuse don’t really care who you are.

They can show up and hurt anyone.

Isn’t that exactly what Wolff was doing in the original quote posted?

Whether you make $10,000 a year or $1,000,000 a year pressure is pressure

He's a good kid, he is a rising star in golf

Glad he righted the ship and worked out whatever struggles he was having
