Bryson was never good.

Brooks is a head case

Never good is an interesting way to describe a top 5 ranked player who won a US Open, 2 FedEx Cup events, and a Memorial before the age of 30

Who could simultaneously change the game off the tee and also be a top level putter while tinkering all the time

Bryson is one of the most talented guys we’ve ever seen on tour, had some nuance to his game at times, and also won

He was on another planet from good and had room to improve too

Cantlay seems to have lost a step as well just not off a cliff

Jason Day and Rickie Fowler have similar results this year and we’re using them as a barometer in this thread for crashing and burning. I did forget Genesis though.

Day and Fowler are back on the way up though. They did crash and burn the last few years and are playing significantly better golf so far this year.

Cantlay has just never really done anything in a major so sometimes it feels that way (at least to me)

They all had runs where they seemed unbeatable what a fricked up game

Yeah, I wouldn’t put Rickie on the same tier as Day, Brooks, or Bryson, but you’re right. It’s such a fickle game and can be so tough mentally. Spieth is another example of a guy who completely lost it for a little bit as well after being on top of the world.

So many different ways you can fall apart too.

I just realized Fleetwood has never won a PGA tournament. Thought he had at least 2-3.

Well, he’s said as much and his performances seem to back up that claim

Steve Stricker wasn't the best putter and if he was better he would have won a major championship or two.

Money is no longer an incentive to win for them. They just show up, get paid. Say what you want but that removes pressure and changes mentality which can effect performance.
