That time I realized I'll never be a pro or really much good at the game and stopped getting so angry on the course. It turned from an activity I needed to master into a passion. Probably shaved a few strokes off my game too, ironically.

Yea, that’s a good one... most people see the golf swing in 2D and figure they need to put the arms behind them, but in reality the arms are brought there by the pivot not by rotation of shoulder/forearm. That leads to a rolling takeaway which is a precursor to a OTT move and bane of the weekend warrior

I think I was around 13 years old and I finally truly hit down on an iron shot. Went from 90's to 80's golfer relatively quickly after that. The next moment if when I learned how to hit a consistent draw or cut by just changing my stance a bit. Dropped me from 80's to 70's really quick. Then

My aha moment.
“Aha, you can top a golf ball into the hole.”
I’ve done it with a wedge and a 7 wood.

My 1st hole in one, Janky is my witness.

Learning to hit a 1 iron consistently and not pulling the ball when not hitting full swings.
Put me from a 6 or 7 handicap down to a 2

Truth. Then the next hole he holes an impossible downhill lie bunker shot from 15 yards. Motherfrickers feet never stopped moving for 30 minutes.

Just this summer, feeling the correct stance and shot before I even swing and not overthinking it. I now instead just get up and make sure I feel right, then go through my motion.

Mine was actually the opposite.
I was a teaching pro for a decade and after I left the business, golf frustrated me because I knew I could play and score better than I did. It took me years to change my mindset about golf from a work activity to a fun activity. Once I was able to make that mental switch, I found I enjoyed golf again.
Don't get me wrong, I still get frustrated about bad swings. But not anywhere to the level I used to do so.

Not really an ah ha moment, but I’ve tooled my swing so I won’t miss left.
I’m pretty flat and compact without much wrist action. Don’t hit it as far as I used to but makes rounds more enjoyable knowing where the ball is going.

I recently learned that the golf swing is a "pull," and not a "push." It made my shots so much more consistent, especially with the irons.

Can you elaborate on this one?
To me "staying connected" means my right arm is shut close to my body. Otherwise you have no chance at a solid consistent swing.

Can’t pin point 1. I’ve had about 100 of them over the past decade that have only gotten me as high as a 1 handicap

Just graduated college..and just broke 90 for the first time..after ..3 months of playing...walk into club house and see a banner that a 14 yr old Bubba Watson had shot a course record 25 strokes better than me....i started grad school that fall.

6.7 on the ghin so I can move it around ok(inconsistent) but constantly play with guys much better than I. Would lose my shite from time to time on the course and was miserable when I did.
Buddy told me I need to lower my expectations.
So I did and golf is much more enjoyable now!

When I figured out how to use the bounce on wedges when chipping. Good chipping can save rounds and hide when you’re bad off the tee or with irons on a given day. Had one of those days today. 7 GIRs. Shot 75. Only birdie was a chip in.
I've really gotten better with my driver and irons swings, but it made me realize how important greenside game is. I plan on moving my focus there.
