Pretty soggy where I live today. I’m somewhat new to golf so I’ve never canceled a tee time before. Called the course this morning and they are open and taking golfers. However it was pretty rainy and would likely be a tough round of golf. There’s also thunderstorms that are supposed to start about 2 hours after our tee time making a full round unlikely.

I know places usually have cancellation policies about canceling in advance with enough notice. But if you’re only a few hours from your tee time and the weather is crap, I assume last minute cancellations are seen as fair game even if the course considers itself open?

Call if you think it’s not going to work. I’ve called an hour prior and the guy said “no problem, it’s raining here too”

Just call ahead or do it via the app if possible. I’ve never seen a charge for cancellation.

I would say if you do so, do it about a hour before, no later tan that... just my opinion though

If you cancel bc of bad weather no harm no foul. Nobody controls the weather.

I worked in the pro shop of a golf course for a couple of years. The earlier you cancel, the better. That way they can resell the time.

If it looks like rain and you want to cancel, just call and let them know. Some notice is better than no notice.

With that said, if it's pissing rain, no need to call. It's understood you canceled.

If it thunders, I bail, I’ve played in too many close scenarios to ever risk it again with weather in the south. No one will fault you for not showing or calling because of thunderstorms and if they do...you know the rest
