About 10 years ago my hands starting feeling stiff most of the time. Waking up in the morning stiff, and would tend to loosen up throughout the day, but by the end of working they would feel tight again. I ended up taking some prescription for a few months, then weaned off of it, and haven't had any issues again until recently.

I think it was Mobic that I was taking, which is an NSAID. It is really just my middle and ring finger on each hand that is bothering me now, and I have increased how much I'm lifting, all dumbbells, so I'm assuming that has something to do with it.

For those that have experienced this, what has seemed to help other than a prescription? I'm already taking Turmeric and will use Aleve on some days, but are there any sort of grip strength exercises or stretching that helps, or should I try a round of prescription meds again? Pushing exercises are fine as I'm not gripping as tight on those, but curls, rows, and dumbbell squats and deadlifts seem to cause more stiffness as I'm holding a heavier weight on those and using more of the fingers to grip it. Do lifting gloves help? Thinking it might take some of the strain off.

I'm creating an LED glove: Red and Near IR just for that.

I'll let you know when I get a prototype finished.

Paraffin wax baths.

The hot wax will dilate your subcutaneous blood vessels and help with the pain.

My mother has terrible arthritis in her fingers and hands so any ideas or things you come up with please post.

She’ll try just about anything at this point.

Something to look into. I have a friend that swears by this for his hands. He played guitar for 50+ years and his left hand had terrible arthritis. He started using this and loves to show off how flexible his hands are now.

Give Voltaren a try. Generic is Diclofenac. It’s a topical NSAID. It’s been shown to be pretty efficacious for small joint arthritis pain in the hand/wrist. You do need to use it fairly consistently (3-4 times a day, everyday). It’s not like icy hot where you will feel a difference immediately, but after several days you should feel a difference.

Low dose radiation for arthritis

Yes, radiation as in the cancer treatment. Very effective, minimally invasive, no side effects. Works great in the hands and knees especially.
