Is it ok to take if you’re strictly wanting to cut/lean out? I’m stuck on the stigma that I’ll bulk up if I take it.

its fine. might mess with the scale some but it will be intra muscular water so it will actually look like muscle and make your BF% go down

I’ve been on a 6mo cut and take 10g/day. The bigger benefits for me are on the cognitive side. Given all of the well documented and ongoing research showing positive effects, I don’t see a need to get off creatine for any reason.

Can you elaborate on this?

To me, it tracks with the effects on the body. That is, better hydration of the tissue, better recovery, and seemingly better overall function.

Examples: I drink relatively infrequently, but I’ve noticed almost no hangover side effects when I do now. I feel less mental fatigue, better baseline cognition (especially in the morning), marginal short-term memory increases, and I suspect more streamlined executive functioning skills as a result. Sleep has also been solid.

I would have tended to assume these benefits were a product of maintaining otherwise healthy exercise and nutrition protocols, but I was using 5g of creatine a day while maintaining good baseline nutrition/activity levels and started really noticing the listed brain health benefits after ~5 days of 10-15g of daily creatine use. No other explicable lifestyle changes added to my routine other than the creatine.

Some may call bullshite, but I can’t point to any other correlative behavioral or environmental factor that’s been altered. But, it’s also my experience and may not be broadly representative of everyone’s experienced effects.

Edit: I started taking 10g after hearing about a study on the Dr. Gabrielle Lyons podcast where they mentioned cognitive benefits being observed at 12g/daily. Daily protein sources should get you at least 2g in a moderate-high protein diet.

Couple of other questions..is one brand better than the other or can you just grab one from Amazon or GNC? Also, any differences in the powder or pill form? Thanks.

you are looking for a creatine monohydrate that list it being creapure.....

creatine is only made in germany(creapure) and china. I have no problem with china supplements for the most part, but their creatine is usually much lower quality and many times causes GI distress.

thats why i just say order from truenutrition. ordering from small business in america that 3rd party test everything and that are active in the BB community, especially online.
