All,

I want to buy the best single hand grease gun. I'm fed up with parts store grease guns that leak or shite out on me after a couple of years.

Needs to be one-handed also.

This LINK has been a hot topic on the tractor forum I frequent.

German made, no mess grease tubes.

ETA - consider this LockNLube coupler, regardless of what gun you buy. It's made greasing front ends much easier.

Megaboost grease guns

Im a helicopter mechanic, we have loads needle style and regular grease zerks all over our aircraft. We only buy these, and keep a couple with the flex line and a couple with the hard line to the coupler. They are expensive but we use the every living shite out of them every day and they dont quit. Haven't had one break yet. We use the Lock and Load guns. We get ours thru Grainger but Im guessing you can get them elsewhere.

Does it take regular great tubes? The other one posted looks cool but it requires their canisters. I just want to shove a tube of grease in there.

I have a bunch of needle and regular zerks as well

Roger that...frick that hand packing b.s. Did that for too long from 5 gallon pails. Tubes of lube for the win. No threads to booger up when you're reloading it either makes for quick changes. It also has a switch that goes between volume and boost....boost will help unclog a zerk, but we dont use it because too many fragile seals can be blown out with the boosted pressure.

I've had this one for a few years and it works great. One handed operation as well.

I bought this one LocknLube several years ago.

Similar to the Lube Shuttle design (no spring), but it uses standard grease cartridges.

I’ll second the locknlube.

Amazon

You can also just buy the locknlube mechanism and add it to other guns. They make make a couple of different 90 degree pieces that works really well.

Cool, ill need to get one and try it out. By similar design do you mean the tube is not under pressure? Seems like that's what drives most of the leaking from standard guns.

I had gotten the lock n lube hose and coupler and stuff several years back but not the actual grease gun. What made me bump this is I ordered a lube shuttle gun yesterday, but I need 3 or 4 grease guns to save myself from swapping tubes all the time.

I have a lock and lube that I use on my tractor and implements. They’re great but I’m not using it constantly.

If I were buying another that id be using a lot I’d probably buy a dewalt electric. The guy that came out to service my tractor used one and I figure he used the hell out of it.

That is correct. Like the Lube Shuttle design, the pump creates a vacuum that pulls the grease into the plunger. The only thing you add to a standard grease cartridge is a small plastic follower.

I've had mine for ~3 years, no leaks.

I had a Lincoln battery operated grease gun and it was crap. Picked up a Milwaukee m12, added a lock and lube and it's excellent. It doesn't build up as high of pressure as some of the other guns so keep that in mind if you frequently run across clogged fittings. The psi specs are online
