Central vs mini split

Was quoted 30k for adding ducts and central air today (yikes). Looking to get quotes for mini splits but curious on if central air adds value to a home and the relative performance vs mini splits. The area is Boston and it doesn’t get south hot but does get hotter a few months of year.

My parents added a 3 way mini split to a house on the Cape and have been very happy with it. I doubt central ac adds $30k to the sale price.

Dudes in Boston and worries about AC. It’s fricking 100° down here and I’m thinking about adding a mini split to my existing central AC.

Central air can be used year round for circulation and heat also. I think it depends on the price point, but Boston aint cheap I think $30k would easily be added in the value by adding it.
You can't look at it as you are the buyer, and say "would I pay $30k less for mini splits". You have to remember that NOT having central HVAC turns away a lot of buyers that will never consider it. Probably not as much up north, but I doubt anyone is building new homes for sale without it.
I would work on getting new quotes, and see if you can get options for it to be cheaper.
Yes I agree, dude keep it all to the same thread.
