When I turn on a faucet, it takes about 2-3 minutes for the hot water to come on. Should it be faster? Been like this since I moved into the house 3 years ago and I’m just wondering if this is normal or if I need to have some work done. 2 water heaters are about 8 years old.

Check to make sure your aerator on this faucet is not clogged up.

If you have full flow then your hot water piping is too large and/or your water heater is a long way away from your faucet.

It’s on all faucets, but aerators are all good

That makes sense. Water heaters are pretty far away in the garage. That seems like a likely reason.

Pretty far, actually. Tanks are in a far corner of the garage, so probably 30’ for the closest downstairs and 60-70’ for the farthest upstairs. That’s maybe too far away, then

That's probably your issue. My furthest taps take about the same as yours. The ones directly under the water heater are hot in seconds

I installed a small 4 gallon Bosch water heater under my kitchen sink because of this issue. It was super easy and I wish I had done it years ago.

You can pipe in one of those hot water circulator pumps if it is a real bother.

Recirculating pump is the answer
Sounds like they should’ve added another water heater
