Salting/using chemicals can cross the line & start incurring liability. Salting itself is a felony in some areas, so please check your local laws first
I was joking about salting the ground. Don’t want it to leach onto my side, for one thing. The cat’s claw vine has become too big of a problem to trust him to deal with it. I’m going to start by treating that first, and make further decisions after seeing the results.

Cut the vines and brush the wound with glysophate.

Thanks! Going to try this.

Be aware…it will kill the whole vine.

Spend a few dollars on a robust hedge trimmer. I have a Stihl unit that I trim my star jasmine with once or twice a year. It handles the vine with not much problem if you go slow enough.
