Same here. I grew up in the 1970's and 1980's where we pretty much bought everything for the home at Sears (appliances, power equipment, etc). I have always bought Craftsman lawnmowers with a Briggs and Stratton engine. I have recently gotten away from that and bought an Echo weed eater and blower.

Lowes has the Craftsman name now. They're putting it on all kinds of crap.
I love Echo products and have a Gravely ProTurn mower.

Sad how cheap and unoriginal their tools are now. I hit a small jackpot on old Craftman power tools, pair of professional 11A sidewinders and a big DA sander from the 1970's or so. The DA sander needs the switch worked on but one of the saws is practically mint. Runs as smooth as a good Makita.

Go get yourself a toro 22” self-propelled with front wheel drive with the larger rear wheels and call it a day. It’s not rocket science

So they have both Kobalt and Craftsman? Is one supposed to be the "better" brand vs the other? Like a good, better, best sort of thing?

I called it a Quality discount but just ask the manager what the best he can take off on the mower. I do this all the time on appliances and lawn equipment and you will be surprise on the discounts. The manager has leeway on making these discounts. If you don’t ask you don’t receive. I shop at the Home Depot on Clearview in Metairie.

The Honda's cutting system is unreal. On mulch, the yard looks like it was bagged.

Just sucks if you clip a decent sized root or something with those thinner Quadra-cut blades. Often just messes up the lower blade but since you have to buy the set you wind up with left over parts.
I have a free, never used upper Quadra-cut blade if anyone needs one....

If you buy the Honda check K&D rentall. They sell for the same price as home depot and they service what they sell.

Just get a Toro.. I have had mine for 12 years and put it through hell and with very little maintenance. It's worth the price.

I have bought three of the Honda mowers from Home Depot. Very good mowers. I abused the first two of them, cutting weeds without doing a good look over the area. I hit a few stumps doing this. I don’t do this with the third one. I have been having it about six years. No problem whatsoever. They will probably knock $50 off a $400 purchase if you open a new credit acct. I would not even consider buying an extended warranty on a Honda mower.

I ended up getting the Honda from Home Depot for $409. They gave me $50 for opening a new credit account so I couldn't pass it up at $359. I used it to cut grass this weekend and it is quite an upgrade from my 5 year old Craftsman.
