I need some thoughts from the garden expert. I have a cubanelle pepper plant that’s probably double the height of my jalapeño and Cajun belle plants, but it has no blooms and has produced essentially no peppers whatsoever. Did I do something wrong or was it just a bad plant? It received plenty of water and miracle gro like the rest of my pepper plants and tomatoes which have producing really well.

Okra or Southern Peas. Okra matures in 50-60 days, Peas in 70, depending on variety. If you’re gonna do a fall garden & intend to plant something in that spot, you may wanna wait.
I forgot to mention I have them in a 12"×40" planter box. Don't think peas or okra would work in that. Any other suggestions?

You could squeeze in 3-4 okra plants in that space. Find something that does well with it and plant between. Lettuce is one, and there are a few others.

makes me sad to see all those fat, stubby jalopenos sliced up instead of hollowed, stuffed with cheese, wrapped in bacon and grilled.

Prune from bottom up. Add Sulphur or fresh coffee grinds. They like acid —a lot

Bush Lima beans or bush contender green beans.

Pulled all of my tomatoes and cucumbers. I’ve had enough of them and the tomatoes were starting to look rough. Also harvested a bunch of sunflowers today.

Mind sharing what you use for your pickled jalapenos?

I’ve been using Mrs. wages seasoning packets for everything. It’s cheap and delicious. But next big batch of peppers, I’m planning to make candied jalapeños.

Just keep taking care of them, water them and spray them as needed. I’ve noticed my Carmen peppers, jalapeños, bell peppers, and eggplants shut down in the heat them come September until frost I’ll be giving away stuff they will produce so much.

Welp, garden this year is officially a bust. Barely got any tomatoes....out of the eight plants I set out, got a handful of Matt's Wild Cherry...and that's it. Tomatillos never set fruit, even after I tried to hand pollinate. Only pepper that set fruit was the Thai bird.
Got two zucchini and zero squash before the borers got them, and that's even after using Seven.
Three eggplants just aren't growing. They've grown maybe a couple inches since I planted back in April. That's with fertilizing both slow release and a liquid kelp/fish emulsion. No flowers. No fruit.
Probably doesn't help that I've seen zero pollinators this year. No honey bees, no bumble bees, nothing.

Yanked out almost all of my tomato plants today. Every tomato that was still on had split from all the rain. Peppers are still doing good and will probably make a helluva lot in the fall. Cucumbers look to be done as well.
