About a month ago had a bad storm uproot several beautiful pines

Got em cleaned up and hauled off to a guy down the road who operates a sawmill on the side, we picked up 2900 bdft of 1x’s plus a few oak slabs

And get em stacked in the barn ready to dry

Don’t really have a plan on what to use them for once they dry, but really enjoyed the process

You did a really good job of stickering that wood except for the closest end. Need stickers all the way to the edge of those boards.

Nice truck but you might want to hide that plate.

Assuming you use 1x’s for furniture or something?

Enjoyed the narrative and photos. Will they warp much during drying? Or, since in a darn and there will be humidity, will they slow cure and be fine?

Looks good.
A good friend lifts sinker Cypress logs. Has his own mill. Has over 10,000 board feet of rough cut. Kind of like you, true 1”X 4”, etc. all of his stuff is 20 ft long. That cypress was cut over 100 years ago.

Never done this before, followed the advice of several that have , watched a few videos and had a couple neighbors that are real handy help, so we are hoping for the best, lots of weight on top is supposed to help keep them straight, probably take a year for them to dry, but they are in a good place with lots of air flow, I will update the thread as time goes on

You need to restack the shortest stack with longest boards on the bottom. Put stickers as close to the end as possible and make sure stickers are directly in-line vertically.

As you said, lots of weight on top.
