There is no such thing as an impact true freshmen in Les Miles' offense.

So Keiland Williams and Richard Dickson didn't make an impact in 2006?

Jordan Jefferson didn't make an impact in 2008?

Rueben Randle and Russell Shepard didn't make an impact in 2009?

JJ Rueban and Shep didnt, not as much as they should have, but that wasnt their fault...I think the 2011 class will have 3 impact freshman Johnson, Collins, Hilliard, this one maybe Ware...

I say boone. he will benifit from having jefferson be the QB for a year and have a year of the sec under his belt. jefferson should know the offense well enough to see if he is getting a open look to throw it to him.

Ware-I think he'll get some good carries this year. Will get more and more as the season goes on.Have to separate he and Hilliard by a year

Gore-I think special teams mainly with maybe some situational play at rb

Boone-will play from day 1.Impact will depend on C.Tolliver and Shepard

Dickson-Could get some playing time

Ferguson-Will be a part of the DE rotation.Too talented to sit.Is ready for college physically

Reid-I think he'll play special teams and backup S

Adams-Will be given every chance to earn playing time. Will have 1 year to prove and earn his spot. The young guys behind him will push him out if he doesn't produce right away.Could play TE

Ferguson, Boone and Ware are the best bets.

I think Ware gets a shot only if RM isn't fully recovered or Ridley is completely ineffective. I just think Miles will stick with Ford, Murphy, Ridley and Callhoun at the RB spot barring injury.

If Montgomery didn't play last year, I doubt Ferguson will see much PT. Montgomery will step into Alem's spot in the rotation and they will probably play Ken Adams, so I think all the DE/DT redshirt.

I think Boone has the best chance of PT. We are a little thin at WR and I could see a freshman breaking into the rotation as the third or fourth wide out. Boone looks like a good slot guy too.

I think you are right in your guess overall, but I just don't see anyone getting much PT besides Boone or Wright.

I would agree with this. I said best bets. I agree that Ware likely doesn't play. I think Ferguson was probably told he plays.

Every year people make crazy predicitons about impact freshman and every year 1 or 2 make significant contributions. For instance someone said Gore considering special teams. I don't see how anyone expects that considering Calhoun didn't. Everyone predicted that he would make an impact on returns. And he's actually faster by all accounts. The year before that it was Ron Brooks on returns.

Yeah, I just don't see anyone except a WR or Ken Adams getting any PT (barring injury and not considering special teams.) That being said, If anyone in this class were going to play as freshman, I'd guess Ware, Ferguson/Copeland or Boone/Wright as well.

I can't disagree with anything any of you siad. It's all subjective.I said Ware because we need to get a year of separation between he and Hilliard and I think he can help.I'm not a big fan of Murphy. He always gets talked about as having a great spring and should see the field more every year and does nothing. The difference between Montgomery and Ferguson is size.Montgomery was a little raw and not ready physically to play.Ferguson is also raw but his body is college ready now and he has the type of speed we need coming off the edge at DE.
