We really need this guy. We’ve unfortunately passed the time where we can skip years of getting QB’s.

I think it depends on how our QB position performs this year. If it looks like we are still struggling to get good production out of the QB spot he he's going to be less likely to pull the trigger.

I noted production because production is indicative of success and ability to properly utilize and develop the QB position. Not always, but usually. But, you are right, utilization and style are huge and that's apparently what was laid out on the staff's visit to Houston.

Gunnell said that he was going to check out all his options thoroughly before making his final decision. I'm not surprised that he is visiting other schools. He's going to make that decision soon, so what is the point of him announcing which school he might be thinking about today? When he does decide, he will stick to that commitment.

Seems like the kid is feeling the west coast. Can’t really blame him either. The Pac-12 has put out some good highly drafted QBs in recent years.
If he can get drafted high while living on the west coast, not having to face the gauntlet of SEC defenses every week, and enjoying the perfect weather/beach babes, can’t say I blame him for making that choice

We had a chance to catch up with Gunnell over the weekend at the Steve Clarkson Quarterback Retreat in Santa Monica, California and the quarterback told us he’s focusing on four schools right now.
“I’m looking at Arizona, Ohio State, Cal and UCLA,” Gunnell said. “I’ve already taken official visits to Arizona and Ohio State and unofficial visits to Cal and UCLA.
We had a chance to catch up with Gunnell over the weekend at the Steve Clarkson Quarterback Retreat in Santa Monica, California and the quarterback told us he’s focusing on four schools right now.

This thread title is misleading. Gunnell isn't setting up a recruiting visit. He is coming with his 7 on 7 team team. He isn't committing to us.
