I don't even care. So long, sucker.

Supposedly there's a young running back there with the last name of Griffin. Not sure if they are related. I brought up the family illness factor because that was said to be the reason he would likely decommit from us and he would likely end up staying close to home at UGA.

If he was playing us I'm sure the coaches will back off. If his early commitment was genuine, I'd imagine meatball will stay in contact and continue to recruit the kid. Long way to go. I'm not getting too high or low on the current class because it will continue to change.
2018 I think we just need to hold serve. Get the best class we can and don't fall behind in recruiting. 2019 will be the put up or shut up season with more elite potential prospects and a staff with a year under its belt. What matters the most for 2018 is putting a solid product on the field so kids will want to come here and we can raid other states' cookie jars.

I'll translate. Coach told him from the start, don't commit unless you are a man of your word. AA decommitted and O told him there would no longer be a scholarship available at any later date.
I agree with Coach O.
I agree with Coach O.

Yeah. I can't argue with that. I just don't think the kid is a useless recruit as others seem to.
You're absolutely right. Griffin is a good football player and he definitely has good potential.

There's one reason he ain't coming to LSU. His name is K'Lavon Chiasson. It would've been a while before Adam saw the field around here.

How do you go from being committed to a school to not even considering them a week later?
Easily. A kid decides he no longer wants to go to a certain school so he decommitts from that school. Not hard to understand.

Seems like there's 2 categories of decommits.
First one decommits from a school and is no longer considering that school. Means he's going elsewhere.
Second one decommits from that school but says still considering that school. Means he taking free trips.
It's craziness.

They need to stop using the word 'comittment' when it comes to these things- when a kid says he wants to go to a school they should call it a lean- or a whim or idea, or some other loose term, lol.

Someone above mentioned the possibility that Anderson didn't list LSU because his offer may have been pulled.
IF that was done:
- because he decommitted, I'm personally ok with it for an OOS recruit. But that's a mine field.
- because Staff suspected it was Anderson playing us on the package deal we should all be good with it. I remember Nkdemiche doing similar to Clemson and thinking how glad I was LSU didn't get suckered. This is another way to handle that. Especially if Anderson was warned.
- because recruiting is a shite show and the school doesn't really have much leverage and this is a "picked battle" where CEO chose to send a message and create some leverage I think we should all be good with it. If you're going to pull an offer to send a message an A) obvious package deal and B) OOS kid is the perfect time to pick that battle. Just don't make it policy.
- *biggest reason* because his commitment scared away another recruit. Now you can go back and promise that recruit Anderson will not be the one blocking his slot and the kid knows you're not playing him off Anderson.
Just theorizing here and trying to make sense out of how indeed you go from committed to not even considering like that.

Maybe he wants to play defensive end instead of LB. ESPN has him listed as the #7 DE.

quote:correct me if I'm wrong, but that "type" of DE and a LB in Aranda's scheme are the same thing, at least interchangeable.

Any of the possible reasons mentioned by 120goon for Anderson's decommitment make sense.
I think Coach Orgeron and LSU should move on. It is not even mid-July, and there is plenty of time to pursue other highly regarded DE-LB types.
I also believe that it is inevitable that the other Rome, GA recruit will also not be a part of the 2018 signing class.
