Whats he done again besides having a high star ranking?

What has any QB, with a high star rating, from the 2010 class done to this point?

Sounds like you are just trying to put a rosy spin on the way things turned out.

Tell me what stands out about Sylve other than his speed?
speed that's rare

he's also got good hands, and can make plays w/ the ball

I never thought Reed was great either
it's your opinion, but I think you're dead wrong, he's a great player.

There are now FOUR players that fit this bill. FOUR.

It's a trend.

This sucks, but I don't think it's a trend. If Benton could spell his name, he'd be a LSU Tiger. Bell we wanted, we didn't want, we wanted, we didn't want... Ahhh whatever. Reed we wanted, but I'm personally ok with him going to AU and I think it was the better descision for him.
This on the other hand perplexes me. I think Sylve will be a better player and better fit for LSU and really wanted him to be a Tiger. I hope it's not over and I hope he comes here in the end.

He may be decent, but first team All-SEC? I just don't think it'll happen.
that's a crap shoot, but you want as many top line players as you can get to up your chances of having a great player down the road. Reed is a big time player

losing three LA guys you wanted, would now be 4, in consecutive years at the same pos. can be called a trend

Bell? meh.

Benton? everyone knows what happened with that.

Reed? They did want him. What can you do? If his mom didn't die, who knows where he would've ended up.

Now Sylve....

All I'm saying are these 5'10 speedy WR's are a dime a dozen. That's 3 years in a row that LSU "lost out on" them.

I'd rather have the bigger guys with speed. Doesn't have to be 4.4, but they can stretch the field just as well as your other guys can.

That would be a pretty poor argument considering our oline.

The OL problems have been overrated on this board. They weren't all-world last year but it's all a result of the poor QB play. It's somewhat ridiculous how many people defenses were sending against our OL knowing we couldn't throw the ball.

maybe, but like lester said, it's straight line.

i'd be happy to have him based on speed alone but nothing really blows me away about him.

he was a great hs player for sure. i'm not sure he'll be a great college player.

Hate to see him go elsewhere but I think it will be a long stressful year for Bama fans that want him. He'll be hard to hang on to unless the coach gets handed a job with help from Saban. The comments about our wr corps being too deep are BS.Bama brings in 3-4 wrs every year and still plan to take at least 1 more this year to go with the 4 they already have.home will be calling Sylve all year.Hope he comes around but if not WR is one position I don't worry about when it comes to getting ones.Beckham,Chris Briggs from Franklinton(think this kid has more upside than any wr in the state not named Landry),Ryan Byrd and all those OOS kids we have offered.e'll be fine at wr.I just wanted Sylve bad.His speed can't be taught.I think he'll come home in the end.

i realize that, but from watching some of his video, he is pretty straight line.
saw him play in the dome and he can go over the middle and make plays as well as out run everyone on the field.

If it were somewhere other than Bama i dont think people would be so worried about it
it makes a statement that Saban can pull a kid LSU wanted badly from the heart of LSU country, so this def plays into it. But he's one of the best in LA in a stacked year, it's a blow to the class.

but it can be made up by getting beckham as WR, if sylve elects to stay with bama.

or is beckham probably going to be only a cb?

Books, I'm with you on your assessment...Kid can flat out move, and not just in a straight line...This one stings and Saban coming in here again doesnt make it feel any better

I wouldn't say "blow." That's a little much. Like I said in an earlier post, I really think that LSU will be able to find someone just as good as Sylve. Like you guys said, yes it sucks he's from La and is going OOS....who's next on the board?

other than Benton, this is just a bunch of spin. LSU wanted all three, and they lost all three. Now Sylve

Devery has elite straight line speed, how is that not extremely valuable?
