I think it's just a sprain. How it effects him if he does play. His game is based off of speed and getting to corners first so if he has a bad wheel it could effect him. My guess is its a sprain and the boot and crutches are just a precaution. I should know more by Thursday and I will try to update this. It would be a shame if he doesn't. It will take away from how great this game could be but thats football. Central had over 400 rushing yds last week so they can still manage.

Lamonte Janeau - RB (Kid is 200lbs running a 4.5 but he's either all or nothing. You never know what you're getting out of him)

Kid has talent but i dont think he will ever get his head out of his arse. Hes quit/been kicked off the team atleast twice and has one of the worst attitudes ive encountered

ETA Devon Gales has heart (overused term but its true). That dude was a stick and a midget his sophmore year and always played hard. Hes worked his way into a good player and i think he could fill in a good bit of Tripplets production

Nick Coomes - QB (Can't say enough about this kid. Dead accurate. Great poise. Has a great chance)
Derrius Guice - RB (Great talent)

Darrius is the backup RB.

Catholic's starter Khalil Thomas is getting some D1 looks as well and can easily hold his own.

Ken Ward is a wide receiver for CHS who will be going to a big-time national track program as he has been the best hurdler in Louisiana for two years now and is just a couple tenths off the record.

Cameron Tom is a guard for CHS (6'5, 290lbs) and is pretty raw but has been getting some looks from bigger D1 schools.

From what I've heard on Tom is he has been looked at from a couple D1 schools. If I remember correctly one being Notre Dame. He is very raw but with his size things can happen.

Well said. Which of these kids from Catholic or Central are LSU caliber? Which kids could LSU potentially offer since this is an LSU recruiting board? That's a pretty high bar. I was checking out a few of the guys mentioned. Brett Courville and Nick Coomes are listed pretty similarly at around 5'10" to 5'11" and about 190 lbs range. Triplette is listed at 5'7" 165 lbs. Are these 3 guys LSU recruits? Rivers and Mett are 6'5" plus and Ford is a smaller LSU running back at 5'10" 215. Maybe Triplette has Trindon's speed? Maybe Coomes and Courville are the next Chase Daniel? Fill me in on these guys?

Trindon wishes he had Triplett's vision.

So do you think Triplette is better than Trindon? Do you think LSU offers Triplette? You know Les loves those big physical battering ram running backs. Is he a fit for LSU? Also I remember Zach Oliver who was 6'4" and threw for a few thousand yards at Catholic and got no LSU offer. Do you think the Catholic or Central QB's get an LSU offer? I don't see any of these guys on the LSU radar but Les does find diamonds in the rough.

Central's qb will not get an offer. I'm not sure about Triplett. He is on lsu's big board though. Reminds me a lot of deanthony Thomas.

Players with D1 potential:

Catholic:

Khalil Thomas is a nice little scat-back. Very hard to tackle and has good speed. He's a bit undersized for D-1 though.

Coomes has looked great the last two weeks. He's hooked up with WR David Losavio on 60 yard bombs in both games, so they are dangerous through the air.

Ken Ward has great speed but seems to lack the toughness and instincts to play WR at the D-1 level.

Guice does have a lot of potential.

Triplett has the skills but I think his size is going to be a big deterant for him. He will play somewhere I just have my doubts it at LSU. But I haven't seen him play much so my impression doesn't mean much. Hope he does end up and LSU. Hope he deserves it. Exciting in high school for sure.

I don't know if Coomes is still growing or not, but unless he can reach at least 6'2", he can't expect an LSU offer or any major college for that matter.

Catholic's Recruits:

Khalil Thomas RB Sr 5'7 175 - quick scat back, good in space, hard runner

Darrius Guice Highlights RB SO 5'11" 200 - refuses to go down.

Ken Ward WR Sr 6'0" 175 - 2x state champ hurdles - can burn. Needs to develop physicality at the collegiate level. His speed allows him to make plays.

Cameron Tom OG Sr 6'5" 280 - super smart and has played both Tackle and Guard.

Matthew Ydarraga DE Jr 6'2" 220 - Hard-nosed, technically-sound ballplayer. 2/3 weeks Defensive player of week for CHS

Christian Brown TE/WR Sr 6'5" 220 - Great hands, good blocker. When CHS needs a big catch, expect his number to be called

Clay Moffitt TE Jr 6'3" 230 - Solid blocker, auto-pancake if he locks up. Also good pass catcher. Tommy Moffitt's son.

Nick Coomes is a very good high school quarterback. He can put it on the money. He can also connect on long vertical routes down the field. He is very smooth running the football and is just a cool and collected football player. Ben Braymer actually has a better arm than Nick. Both are solid high school quarterbacks. Braymer will also lower his shoulder and run over a linebacker if he is in the open field. I do not think that either of these guys will play college ball though, but both are good high school quarterbacks.
