To be fair, Orgeron said the ‘17 class was one of the greatest classes he’s ever been around and only 4 really got significant PT

Ok, let’s see. On offense,
Carter - FB
Ed Ingram and Sadihq Charles O line

Defense
Chaisson, Taylor, Delpit and Phillips played quite a bit. 2 of the defensive linemen played a lot early because of injuries.

More than 4 had significant playing time

I'd be surprised if Eaux knows how to spell "superstar."

This is really reminding me of the first couple of Archer years. He's gathering whatever talent he can get, but it's a slight, gradual downhill descent in quality.

I like the kids we got today. In the perfect world I don’t think O or anyone would want to have to rely on JUCO kids. But that is quibbling.

We need to close strong. I’d like to see a QB, a stud RB, a stud CB and a stud WR to finish out and if you trust the projections we will do that with the exception of a QB.

However while you, me and O hopes all our kids are great and a few superstars.

Honestly what else was he gonna say?

“Well we did ok. Took some kids that can’t walk and chew gum at same time but they have potential!””

Every coach loves his class today when he talks to the media. You know this. I do. Everyone does.

I’m no recruiting expert but there is no way anyone can predict how a kid will develop his skills in a 3 to 4 year span of time.

Coach Eaux is probably a lot smarter than you are. I don't know why you would think he could not spell. Have you ever seen anything he has written?

Rashard Lawrence, Ed Alexander, Tyler Shelvin, Glen Logan and Breiden Fehoko will not be a descent downhill. It will be quite an improvement on the D-line over what LSU has had.

The O-line will be much better if just two of the eligible guys stay.

Devin White, Tyler Taylor, K'laivon Chaisson and Jacob Phillips and 2 or 3 LB's LSU has coming in may be a small dropoff to start the season from Devin White. Arden Key, Donnie Alexander and Corey Thompson. But the first group started and played so much it was hard to tell who was playing anyway except for Key.

Jonathon Giles will be better than any WR we had playing this year and will start.

bottom line without going over every position I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about and are full of shite.

He did not have to say what he did. He may just be motivating them already but if it works then it will probably make him right to say what he did.

This coach just played over 30 freshmen this season with 12 true freshmen having to start. I'll take his words for truth over yours. No offense !!!

There were other circumstances during the Archer tenure that was beyond his control. Are you aware of the negative affect that George Eames had on LSU recruiting during that period of history.

Yeah, it would be pretty stupid for ANYONE to quibble or argue about a team taking two Juco's who are #1 at their position and one who as #2 at his position. I wouldn't mind if they do it EVERY YEAR. Especially if two of the guys are in the top two at their position and are offensive linemen.

I know enough to realize that "make the best of it. ______ was a three star" is not winner talk.

For sure - we got some beef which is what wins games. All the results of the flashy skill players in the world depend on the trenches.
