Exactly Solo it's not likely we end up with the number one class but a top 3 at worst top 5 class with the low rated or not rated at all players in the class is a major coup especially since finishing that high would mean we landed all the key players in the state (sopsher, lee, palmer, Parker, emery, etc.) basically establishing the fence around the state we have all been crying for ????

I think we end up with a #11-14 class. All of these teams, I think, will for sure be ahead of us: Alabama Oklahoma Oregon Ohio St. Georgia Texas Auburn Florida St. Penn St. These teams will have comparable scores to us: ND Michigan Clemson Texas A&M Tennessee

Lol!! Not a chance in hell bro! Not this year

You can’t reach top 3 with a snapper, punter and Juco TE

Yeah, and go ahead and use walk on guys at these positions and see how fast you change your mind as soon as more than one snap goes over the punters head while a TE misses his block

I expect this to be a Top 3 class if it closes like anticipated.

A 247 rating in the 290's, which is where this class likely ends up, has pretty much always been good enough for Top 3 nationally.

Doing it with the specialists makes it even more impressive.

Ehh, IDK. I think TAMU will be ahead along with Bama and UGA. Oklahoma only has 16 recruits and sit at #3 right now. Ohio St has 14 recruits and is sitting at 7 (right behind us with 18). Literally one 3 star pushes them above us (they have an uncommitted 3 star guy who is predicted 100% to them).

I think LSU finishes at 5-6. I know you keep saying 290s, TAMU will most definitely have close to 300 if not more and Ohio St will definitely climb way up considering they have plenty room and it's Urban Meyer. Same with Smart and UGA, they are going to skyrocket considering they only have 13 recruits and sit at #4. Oklahoma sits pretty and also has tons of room.

Anyway 5-6 will be a great class and we should have all needs filled by the end of it.

Calm down, he didn't say anything like that. What he said is kinda true considering they are no points for us, but they do fill needs so it's okay.

Aggies would have to land Sopsher to get above 290. Right now if they were to add Jeffery Carter, Christian Harris, and Marcus Stripling it would put them around 284.

He didn’t criticize the takes, he said those will lower the overall class rating, which is true. Most other teams we’re competing against in the rankings have one or none of those guys on their commit list and their average rating is higher. We happen to be restocking on all three. It’s commentary on the way the class rankings are built more than anything.

Seems like somewhere between 4-6 is most likely if the class finishes the way people expect it to.

The only teams I think finish ahead of LSU are Bama and Georgia. I see LSU at #3.

But that is with the pretty much ideal finish.

It's all in fun anyway. I don't take these rankings too seriously.

I agree with the bolded completely. I just think if we take the LS, K, and Juco TE it will bring our ranking down a little bit. The LS and K are definitely going to be in the class, but I still think there's some possible movement on the TE.

They are absolutely better than the last time they were ranked, which wasn't done yesterday...clown

not likely by much, clown, and those evaluators certainly wouldn't know by how much. They didn't change the rankings based on improvement, just based on more exposure. The posters rhetorical question is accurate.

LSU sits at 18 commits and has 7 spots remaining. If we were to pull Sopsher, Emery, Lee, and Palmer then fill out the other three with some highly ranked guys then the class has a chance to be in the top 3 overall. It would take LSU getting at least 3-4 more five star kids to legitimately take the top overall class.. honestly it's not nearly as high a deal as people think. Having a top 5 class with the positions of need being soundly filled out with elite players is all you can ask for. I don't care if it's the 27th overall class as long as we get the guys we need to continue to compete at a high level. Wisconsin never recruits a top 10 class but competes for a big ten title year after year with majority 3 star players. They just fit the program and what the scheme requires. Too much hype is put on the class ranking. Yes the level of players do translate to on field success 9 times out of 10 but it's far overblown to what it truly is

Now that Emery is a 5* LSU could finish with (5) 5* players. Sop/Stingley/Thomas/OT/Emery. If we can land Lee/Sop/OT/Harris/Dean/Palmer/Strickland or Pickering/Parker/some surprise high 4* and maybe drop the TE then we could easily push into top 3 maybe higher if we get Dean and some of these others.

Regardless, like you said, it's a class that LSU can compete for hardware with. Great class and sets us up for momentum in 2020, which also looks like it could be a top 3-5 class. Love it man! GT

LSU won't have the #1 class, but I would take a Top 5 class nationally and #3 in the SEC behind Alabama & UGA every day of the week.

How's that top 3 class looking today?

I'm going to keep bumping this thread all the way to NSD.

What’s your point with spiking the ball in July?

Furthermore, do you enjoy LSU losing a recruit?

Absolutely not, but I'm a realist. I know that we lose recruits every single year. It sucks, but it just happens.

I do, however, enjoy exploiting delusional LSU fans' ignorance. Especially the ones who arrogantly boast their "knowledge" of recruiting, when they don't know jack shite.

Anybody that knows anything about recruiting knows that it's fluid! A week ago we had all the momentum getting commits left and right now Georgia's Death Star stole one from our neck of the woods and is building more and more but all that said recruiting is fluid and it's not over until February until then I'm gonna hope for the best bc I love my Fighting Tigers!!! ??

That’s the right perspective to have especially in July. It is weird the Tommy Robinson or Ed Orgeron weren’t pushing to have a camp this weekend. I’ll say this Tommie Robinson hasn’t impressed with being the RB coach/ Recruiting CO.
