Most last second pull attempts like this don’t work and this guys wasn’t an immediate solution. It’s ok.
The portal is expensive when looking for top-end guys with starting experience, but there’s value to be had if you have an eye for it. Chambliss shows that Lane and Charlie absolutely do. They can find us someone with 2-3 years left to play who can develop while in a backup role next season.

These kids have NIL agents who are responsible for negotiating max NIL offers.
Even if a kid is 100% committed to signing somewhere, their agent will have them hold off on signing so they can pretend to entertain offers from other schools. Those offers are then used as leverage to get a bigger NIL offer from the school where they had always intended to sign.
I hate to see things like this happening, but it is the current unregulated state of college football.

Oh well. I have faith that Kiffin will have a good quarterback either from what is already on the roster now or getting one from the portal. I’ve watched him do this at Ole Miss every year
