should have been more concise. They start identifying talent they want at other schools in Jr High. Then the magic gets worked and the kids they want show up at Karr for 9th grade.

There’s 16 other charter schools in Orleans that can all do the same thing, not to mention the Catholic schools + Newman

They don't limit themselves to the city. They go all over the westbank too.
eventually a coach or admin at another school is gonna cry wolf or a parent whose kid gets replaced.

He a walking turnover machine. He averages 1-2 picks a game. If he wasn't on the team that he is on we would not be having this conversation. He threw 5 picks in the state game last year alone. Not a QB at the next level.

And he will have to sit out just like the WR from 35. They are thin in the school on talent at the freshman level but they always get 2-5 transfers a year that become eligible. This year it was a kid from Cali, Booker T, and Destrehan. The 35 kid they couldn't get him eligible.

Went to Karr jr. high during the 70's. City champs and undefeated in football several years in a row. Coach Ott (Coach Wattigney recently passed) Coach Brupbacher can't remember the rest. I Lived in the neighborhood. I remember coming home after practice One day. I had gotten my bell rung at practice And was met by my father and two huge mounds Of topsoil Delivered to our front yard. Dad handed me a shovel and instructed me to enjoy myself. It took me three days for my head to clear. Good times

No magic, they don't even have to recruit the kids.

Its actually ingenuous what they do, InspireNola the charter system that Karr belongs to has their middle schools athletic directors host a middle school sports league. Then they allow schools outside their charter (Behrman, Ben Franklin, Elan...) to play in the league for free. Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Flag Football, Cabbageball, Track.

Now guess where they play the games? The InspireNola highschools(Karr & 35), both have brand new state of the art buildings. So of course those kids are going to pick them in Oneap.

No, but the westbank is a little different. Algiers is the only part of the westbank that isn't Jefferson Parish, until you get to Belle Chasse.

Algiers has some of the better academic schools. I live down the street from the elementary school (Harte) that feeds into Karr. Really good school, a few years ago parents who couldn't get their children into Harte got upset. They waited outside carpool and posted on the Nextdoor neighbor app that nearly 20% of cars didn't have Orleans Parish brake tags. One parent lives in Gretna, Terrytown, Harvey..., the other in New Orleans, they will just use the Orleans Parish paperwork. It not just athletes doing this, it starts in preK.

Is that why 35 fired Daggs

Then Willie Brooks was out at Ehret and their old coach was saying Karr and Shaw got those kids

How good is their QB?

I try to watch high ranking teams across the country. Karr is somewhere like 8 in the country. I watched most of their game last night. Their QB was not very good. And they would have a tough time against other highly rated teams across the country.

And I really don't like talking bad about any team in Louisiana.
