His film look pretty good to me..great hands...good speed

Lynx said his speed off the line might be the issue?

dunno..

Morris was a 2 star last year that everyone was worried about...he is pushing for a starting role this year..great athlete!

Thomas is a back up plan, but he looks decent to me,.,,but I don't know much

What really should worry all of us about this Fobbs fiasco is that we are competing against Texas A&M for his services. How far have we fallen when we are no longer fighting Bama and Florda for recruits, but middle tier, never to win a MNC teams like damn Texas A&M. That's truly troublesome!

Fobbs will be a Tiger as will Boone. We're ok.

No. NO.
Fobbs is a backup plan, and that's not to take away from his skills, but he was never high on the board, from my knowledge. Please don't encourage worrying. It's absolutely worthless.

Wrong. He was recruited hard even when we had Davis and Hunter committed.

Hold on there tiger, hold the phone.

LSU had commitments from Mike Davis a 5 star Elite WR, and we had Hunter another AA player...

So LSU was locked up with Studs until recently..Stuff happens this time of year. .Fobbs went and committed to A$M...now that things have changed, LSU has decided they want Fobbs...but Fobbs is already committed, remember? So getting kids to flip isn't that easy after they got passed the first go around.

Everyone has an ego...

We got Wright, the best WR in the state this year..I think he is better than Reed...but anyways...If we Get Boone, then I think Fobbs is gravy for this Class...we got Jarvis and Sylve for next season..

Just give me Boone and I am happy

Don't jump yet!

Nobody "passed" on Fobbs. LSU wanted him since the beginning. His problem with LSU was to him, he didn't feel as needed because they originally offered him at DB. He didn't like that...A&M promised him WR, then LSU changed their tune to WR too. Both he and Wright have been recruited hard since Davis/Hunter were committed.

LSU never slowed down on Fobbs, even after he committed to A&M. If he stays with them...its a flat out steal for them.

Fobbs going to A&M would be like Seastrunck signing with Tulane. Might be their biggest catch in a decade! Maybe the kid likes the big fish in a small, desolate pond concept???

With Eric Thomas getting all this attention likely means we missed out on Reed and Fobbs. If that is the case, I would rather not even offer a guy who isn't going to produce for us at all

Although I would love to have him, Reed has, likely, already made up his mind. I fell good about Fobbs, and okay about Boone, but I won't be surprised if we don't get both.

Let's face it - we need bodies for freshmen practice, and more than just pure practice squad players.

I think Thomas could develop into a decent (or even better) player for us, but is definitely a project (compared to other players at this level). He already has nice size (which can't be coached) and has caught a lot of passes. I'm not sure about his frame, but if he bulks up some, he could be a receiving tight end.

IMO the mo claiborne comparison isn't really valid. claiborne is an awesome athlete and will be a big player for us starting this year. to me this guy is another ricky dixon. sorry i just don't see how he would ever contribute here, considering the types of receivers we are used to putting on the field. i'd rather save the schollies than offer either of the evangel guys.

I used to think similar things and then started realizing that a lot of NFL players who were never recruited to big time colleges are stars in the NFL. You never really know how a kid will turn out.

Just found this quote from a Jerry Rice biography - "As a high school player, he became an All-State end and defensive back (and also played running back and quarterback at times), but was not good enough to warrant scholarship offers from the 40 or so National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I-A schools that showed interest. Even Mississippi State, just 20 miles away, didn't offer a scholarship. But Archie Cooley, coach of Division I-AA Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi, had heard about Rice. Rice says of Cooley: "no one else came to see me in person." Based on that, as well as the urging from his older brother Tom, Jerry accepted the scholarship offer from MVSU and arrived in Itta Bena in 1981."

This about the greatest receiver in NFL history. You just never know.

Look if you've fired all your bullets and the other guys (who he's still committed to) have their best bullet in the chamber, I'd say you're pretty much screwed. Fobbs is not going to LSU.
