ok, so you put money on Lache to USC as of today......how possible is it that we can close that gap? I don't like to hear that at all. If Lache would pay attention to Reggie in the NFL, he's had to learn how to be a RB and it's been a slow painful process, I don't believe USC has good "coaches" but to each their own I suppose.

Jeffcoat.....headed to Texas?

What about Connor Wood?

Any other tidbits you care to divulge with the folks around here? I understand if you cant.

Gawd, how does Mack do that? It's interesting to see the differing strategies.

One recruit this weekend........Terrell maybe.....said Brown "talked him into committing."

wow, he is really good.
here is a more detailed list of the players at the Junior day and a little more info on them all.
this is an interesting quote about Evan Washington:
quote:

He wasn’t offered, but Texas told him that he probably would after they sort out the numbers

I had heard Texas wasn't really recruiting him but I guess they are.

Good luck with the DeSoto Trio. I was hoping that all 3 would pick LSU, but guess not. I was really wanting Aaron Benson too. One thing I can say about Mack Brown is he dosen't slow play his in-state recruits. I think Les Miles does at times, and that will get costly eventually. I also can't understand why LSU can't rack up commitments at its junior day like Texas can.

He wasn't even invited to the Jr. day he showed up and was just hoping to get an offer because he knows Texas will only take 1-2 O-lineman.

I think if either Texas or LSU gets Reed it improves that school's chances greatly. Still don't know if it will be enough. What is working heavily in both schools favor though is an absolutely stacked USC RB Position that has already gotten stronger in 2010.

USC, OU, or Texas. No one knows for sure. Probably the hardest recruitment to read early on in the State for 2010.

Some swear that he is all Texas but that's surely not what I'm hearing. OU-bound if I had to take a guess right now.

Quick impressions after seeing them all for the first time (well, saw Terrell before, briefly:

-Hopkins: Can get out and pull. Seems to have OT arm length
-Harris: no footage
-Bible: Solid footage, good frame... best DT in state though?
-Case: (WTF happened to his face?) Looks exactly like a little Colt in HS, imo.
-Cotton: His face looks mean, but no footage
-Terrell: Great frame, catches with his hands, either he has a horrible QB throwing to him or he doesn't separate enough
-Jackson: Dude looks like he means business, but no footage
-Phillips: no footage
-Dixon: is a beast. He can SLAY and make plays; probably my fave so far
-Benson: Needs some weight, but he is also a beast. That one-armed safety sack decleater is an uber-highlight of highlights

Agreed roughneck.

Also gotta think we've got a better than 80% chance at Reed. That's based on Thib bein LSU country through and through and Reed basically went to every game last year if I remember correctly.

I sure as hell don't believe in package deals and I don't expect one but if we can land Reed you think our chance increases greatly eh? You think they wanna play together that bad?

What's your take on Hurd (as a prospect, and where he's looking to be headed if all offers are given and considered)?

USC will be hurt in recruiting Lache by already having DJ Morgan, who is a very similar player to Lache, already committed and Dillon Baxter who might play RB as well

Here's 1 more thing you can about Mack: 11 years...1 NC at Texas. Better teams LSU, Florida, & most sane caoches have preferred to maximize their talent evaluation period, allowing both coaches & recruits to weigh their options, which in turn has allowed Les Mles to cherry pick the very best of Texas recruits. There is no harm in slow playing recruits, which is many times just further evaluation.

FWIW Hicks seems to be bound for UT out of Ohio. I hear he isn't very interested in Ohio State; didn't he grow up in Texas?

Wow, just wow. You might want to go check again and see who LSU signed last year at RB before you make any more posts. I'll even give you a hint: we did sign one of the top RBs in the Country last year, a dude that had a lot more impressive offers than Michael.

This is not the point at all. Of course Michael Ford is one of the best RBs in the country. We all know that; there is no need to point that out. The point is it is beneficial, if you want to have a deep, strong running game in the SEC, to have more than one marquee RB. And if you can have another really good RB in a class, I say take him. That is why so many people on this board (I don't remember if you were one or not) sprouted wood when they thought we had a chance at Richardson. Two really good RBs are better than one. Still, it will not be a problem at all if we land Seastrunk or another stud RB in next year's class. If...

We had two really good RBs committed since last year, and one of them decommitted and landed at OSU. The coaches liked Pratt more than Michael, and so did alot of schools. Michael didn't have any respectable offers, so we were not the only school to shy away from him.

I agree. The Pratt debacle screwed things up. Perhaps something good can come of it by showing a recruit that there is an opportunity to make a lot of noise on the field.
