re: Fitzgerald West? Would you consider him a reach?

Comparatively Cush was rated at .8238 and West is .8561. Of course that doesn't mean much because every recruit and situation is different, but I think the staff sees West as a guy that could develop like Cush did.

I won’t say West is a reach, but I will always say you don’t have to offer (or accept his commitment) guys like him this early. The vast majority of the time guys like West would jump at the chance to commit and sign with LSU, even if it was National Signing Day. You can wait on those guys.

Ben Wilkerson?
But to OP’s question it’s not a reach at all

Trust. The. Eval. If the eval says he can be a good SEC starter on the OL then you dont need to wait for shite

guys like him
Can you explain what you mean by this?
And as for taking commitments early, Orgeron has shown repeatedly he's not afraid to cut guys loose if they don't continue to develop.

I can see it both ways. The OL eval is based off of what? A single day of watching a guy in shorts and a tshirt? There’s no need to rush an offer or commitment. He ain’t going nowhere.

How many snaps have you seen him play on the OL?

No, but your question on a kid that played guard as a junior on a state championship team and earned a scholarship at center by coming to LSU's camp and performing well is definitely a reach.

Enough. At a camp full of dudes, he stonewalled them all while they made Bo Bordelon look like a pee wee player

If they want him and feel he is worthy of an offer right then and there than who are you or I to say otherwise?

Lloyd Cushenberry was considered a reach…

You didn't watch his OL/DL camp video did you. Great leverage, quickness, and aggressiveness. And of course Bama offered.

Dude looked like he held his own against elite blue chips I don't see why he would be a reach.
Posted on 8/9/21 at 7:32 pm to gemlsu
Seems like most here think we have nowhere near the quality of OL's that Bama has. Well West was offered by Bama. Does that answer your question?

You do know he plays on the offensive line in high school, right? And has been since his freshman year
Here, now you can see him at some snaps at OLine and stfu about it.

Isn’t he like a five year starter? Which means he was a high school starter in the eighth grade.

Also Bama offered him the next couple weeks. He's a legit interior OL
