For some reason, I thought you were innocent until proven guilty in the US? Let's hope that should this go to trial, the jury is a little more open minded about the case.
We are discussing the issue assuming the stories are accurate. There are people in this thread, who assume the story is accurate, who still think he did nothing wrong. That is what is being debated.
Obviously, nobody wants Jeremy Hill to be convicted if the facts are incorrect.

I didn't say LSU. I've said in here LSU shouldn't honor his scholly but Cecil Collins got a second chance at a small school...
How did that work out for Cecil Collins and the next victim?

I agree, and I just think that punishment should be some probation, community service etc...
Since Cecil Collins is your example, how did that work out for him?

These types of cases should be heard on a case by case basis IMO. What he did should still be punished, just not as harshly as say a 24 year old in his shoes...
YOU WANT this kid to go to LSU, we all get that.
He alledgely committed a crime. We will let the courts sort this out.
If you believe that he is being wronged, then go to BR and do something about it like giving his family some money for legal representation.
BTW - If LSU offered him pro bono legal represtentation like I heard, then they are in deep shite for that - go see Lester Earl case. A dr visit it no different that legal.

I find all of this rather disgusting that people are defending this kid because he runs the rock playing football - potentially for LSU. I know guys think differently about things but it is a sad society that anyone justifies all of this and only because he is a football player.
If a person has a daughter, sister or someone close to them they actually care about they would not be justifying this.
Simple point - we live in the United States of America and there are laws - The young man (men) made a stupid decision and regardless of what one feels - the law defines it as an adult and a child in this case. Even if you find some small thing okay with all of that - the fact that they video taped/recorded the event puts everything over the top and out of line. This kid is just flat brain dead. All sympathy should go out the window with video evidence. People agreeing with all of this and justifying this are the same people that considered slipping girls roofies to get laid... it is wrong. it is criminal.

would your views change if he had done this a day before his 18th birthday?
he is nearly 19. HE IS A YEAR BEHIND IN SCHOOL! It is irrelevant in this case.
PLUS, if you read what I posted the Law is clear, it does not matter if it was forced or not,. It does not matter if he knew her age or not. It is clear.

For a guy who has called me out twice for making personal attacks you sure don't have a problem with the Ad Hominem attack yourself.
FYI, I am a father. And, my son will know that it's not ok to mess around with 14 year olds as an 18 year old. He will know that doing so is very wrong. I would say that your father has failed because these things are obvious to you.
eh, I'll take the higher road here

how can LSU offer him pro bono legal representation? I doubt LSU's general counsel has time for his case. Now, some lawyer in BR may have taken his case for free. That I do not know.

It's a little late for that, don't you think?

I meant on a personal attack against you. I think you're a better poster than you came off in this thread and the fact that you couldn't have an educated conversation without starting in on SFP and I about "the type of people we are" is a little disappointing. I'm through with this thread however.

You can't win an argument with moneyg, I learned that the hard way.
That being said, I also read a few pages and agree with moneyg.
He is a decent person even though we dont see eye to eye on everything.
Too bad we cant get this thread anchored.
Getting this close to signing day I'd like to see positive news on recruits instead of this same old tired pathetic thread.

you really think Hill belongs in PRISON for what he did?

dude, he didn't make her do anything is all I'm saying. Yes, he should have known better than to do that but a girl in high school is capable of knowing right and wrong as well. its not like she was 8.

Yep, I avoided this topic since it came out. Now I know why.
What a great world this is.
Be sure (not just you elleshoe) to have this conversation with your mothers, sisters, daughters, fiance - and tell them how you view this subject. If you cant do that honestly - then you know you might just be wrong about all of this.

I hope to God every woman in my life would know better than to dome off two guys in the locker room no matter what age they are

If I knew the exact extent of the case I would know.
But since i didnt see the video and hear the exact way it went down, then I cant judge that young man just by my feelings.
But unless that girl was basically dragged into that bathroom and forced against her will then I'd think he isnt going to prison.

I dont think people are trying to justify it because he is a football player.
but there are so many variables that are involved in this situation that we dont know about.
did he know her age?
did she willingly blow him?
did he tape it, or the other guy?
obviously what he did was wrong. Should he sure jail time? Hell no. I cant believe people think he should go to jail over this.
But I think the biggest thing being overlooked is that Hill is still a high school student. The girl is also a high school student. He is only an "adult" by number. He doesnt live in the real world. He doesnt have real world experiences. He has no responsibilities.
He goes to HS 5 days a week. He probably goes to HS parties. He hangs with HS kids. He probably dates girls in HS. Everything he does revolves around high school.
I don't know how far removed from High school you guys are. But young girls are indeed much more provocative now than they were even 20 years ago. Especially black girls (i dont know if this girl is black, but i am assuming.) If a girl is blowing 2 dudes in a locker room, chances are she is already sexually active. She probably doesnt need any manipulating like people assume.
If it were my daughter, and she blew another HS, of course I would be mad. If she did it willingly, I would be much more upset with her than I was with the guy. If he forced himself on her, we would have a big problem. If she did it willingly, I know my daughter needs help. If he wasn't in HS, we would also have a problem. As a parent i would not be mad with JEremy Hill.
with all that being said, the law is the law. Something needs to be enforced here, whether he is kicked out of school, or looses his LSU scholly, or register as a sex offender. But jail is a little excessive.
