Don't underestimate Crowton's ability to simplify. You can have 2 dives( 1 to each side),2 dive/read tackle/options(1 to each side), 2 sweeps(1 to each side), 3 step drop(4 routes depending on coverage), 5 step drop(6 different routes and cobinations depending on covereage 8-15 yd routes)and with all of these25 plays, you can confuse the defense enormously by different formations and motions to create mismatches. Which is what you do with the atheleticism that LSU has on the opponent. Here is your 4 inch playbook in a nutshell. The majority of this was learned in high school to a certain extent. The difficult part is cathching up to the faster speed, in which Jefferson will do because of his athleticism.

Barrett Bailey and Wes Luquette MAY walk on here.

Why would they want to do that?

dont underestimate the ability for that shite to get found out real fricking quick through film study, this isnt the swac you cant have a 25 play offense in this league. you have to realize the amount of audibles, hot reads and blitzes that he would have to learn very quickly. JJ just wont be ready to start this year period.

This thread is worthless.
Chris Garrett is as solid as they come. His dad came to TSD for a chat and talked to us for about 2 hours about Chris, his commitment, the after effects felt about his commitment, and how much he is looking forward to being at LSU.
Information straight from his father's mouth...take it to the bank.

Walk-ons are the people that bleed P&G through and through. They just want to be a part of LSU...even if they never get to step on the field.

These kids want to play, and if not given the option will probably find a place to play. There are lots of good programs out there that would be happy to take them with open arms and allow them the opportunity. I disagree.

I hate the rumor mill when facts are already out there.
BTW, Chris' dad said that EVERYONE in MSU is pretty ticked off about him coming to LSU, so it would make sense for some random rumor to begin about him wanting to go to State just to please them.

Thank you for stepping up and squashing this bs

You nor I know what these kids want from their college football experience. I would bet a large portion of this board would pass up scholarship offers from other schools just to put on the LSU jersey and helmets. To be a part of LSU football is something some people dream about their entire lives.
Stop making assumptions. You asked 'why' someone would want to walk on...your answer is above. You can disagree with it if you wish...but it isn't your decision, it is theirs.

If for some unknown reason this rumor comes to fruition then I will be the first person to say I was wrong.
However, when comparing the actual words from CG's dad vs. a random MSU rumor...I'll go with CG's dad every single time.

Oh, I believe you're correct. His interviews all seem to further back up what you're saying.

I've heard rumors coming out of Mississippi that Garrett is still considering Miss. St. Living in Tupelo, State having a great class, his Dad the president of the local alumni association, etc. . . Some are saying that he was blown away by the offer from LSU and accepted, but that he's still open to State. That might be wishful thinking by State fans, but I was wondering if anyone knew how solid his committment was.
these are the same rumors that were going around since before we committed. state fans thought he'd think about our offer due to the prestige offer but ultimately stay with them. fast forward a couple of monthes and CG and his father have said on more than one occassion he can't wait to get to LSU. sounds like some state fans are living a pipedream.

hatch went to Harvard and looks like a fricking carbon copy of Flynn gives him the edge on being smart and executing the offense.
so, him being white gives him the edge on being smart and executing the offense in comparison to a young black quarterback?
