It would probably have more of an impact if they had ever gone on the field and beat someone. Not too many of their coaches have winning records to go with all that hoopla.

FWIW, we sure were trying like hell to land Coach O, despite the fact that he's done this everywhere he's been.
Everyone's making fun of this, but we were about a millisecond away from this shite happening in BR. I can't imagine this going over well with Shep, RR, and our guys.

If you look at those quotes, the recruit who said it was awkward was not the one quoted saying they eventually got back into it. I think that tactic worked on some and completely turned off others.
