Definitely a take, hopefully as a rotational piece piece. Really really hope we can get Roy back for another year

Roy expected to be gone after bowl game. He definitely better than people gave him credit for.

The staff knows what they are doing.

Do we know this for Roy or just an assumption?

We need bodies. People expecting three Wingo’s this off-season need a reality check.

He comes in ready to give you snaps in an SEC schedule which is what we need. If we can coach him up and get him in alignment maybe he balls out. No downside really.

In the past when spots were limited, I get the hesitation. At worst he is a non-factor, but worth a roll Of the dice as depth. He wanted to come to LSU all along but if i remember got screwed at the very end so happy to have him back.

Slightly off topic …but Ed Oregon was a great position coach …he could take a guy like this and get the most that he could get out of him ….starter or not

Ed O is the reason he’s not here. Lee was told to look somewhere else because O had bigger fish to fry, but got burned in the end by it. Lee never wanted to go to Florida, IIRC. Glad he’s coming back.

He’s a DT and we need more depth at DT. Makes sense.

I think this is an important fact. If this was last year or no previous years especially, this would not be a good take. But this year with I limit umbers to get to 85, this is an ok take. We need depth and numbers on the dline. We have room to take a flyer on a local guy. If he gives us 10 snaps a game great. If he gives us 0, then oh well.

I'm good with it. Maybe a return home with a new coach/scheme will get more out of him.

Even 10-12 snaps per game would be very helpful.

He would provide solid depth. Not flashy, but would hold his own while the good guy get a few snaps off.

We need bodies and have roster spots. Throw him out there on the FG unit if you can’t find a spot for him.

No he wasn't. That was a complete myth. Orgeron was a great recruiter. That's all. He was not good at evaluating defensive linemen, nor was he good at coaching them. Orgeron was a guy you point at a recruit and say, "Go get 'em."

I think the bigger issue with O was talent evaluation.

I think he always wanted to be here and was one of the first to commit back in 2019 but O and the staff nudged him out. Gotta be happy for him if he finally gets to suit up for the Tigers.

I'm a little bummed that it doesn't look like we'll get Shand in here.

That guy would have come in and given us an additional top-tier player.

Lee is a guy who can fill snaps for you, and you do need that, but he's no better than 4th in the rotation behind Smith, Wingo and Guillory. And he can't do what Wingo can do, namely slide out to defensive end to give you some pass rush. He's strictly a nose guard and a DT.

It's an obvious take, but it isn't something to get excited about. It's depth and we need it, but he doesn't make us markedly better next year.
