Havent seen his film but ive heard enough to deduce that its not the best. Ive said this before. This isnt a year we take chances on anyone. That being said I doubt they feel like he is a project. Why take a project this year with numerous other very talented o-linemen on the list. He impressed them at camp obviously. And yes it has been a whole year since his last highlight video. The kid has improved. He didnt get an offer early because of the same video you all saw. At camp he must have shown vast improvement. If a kid can improve that much in a year then he will continue to get better. He probly worked out, conditioned and worked on his weaknesses. He probly learned a thing or two from other camps as well. COACHES can COACH. They know who they can make better. Coach Miles has put together the best O-line and the best D-line in the country this year (All His Recruits). Trust the coaches man. Remember when he moved that awesome DT Barksdale to the Oline. What an idiot.

I'm going against all of you on this (shocker, huh).
It's not a surprise Saban hasn't offered him - with his propensity to only offer four and five star guys.
Auburn? Dunno....they have strange ways of doing things at times. Although I like what they do. They aren't afraid to get undersized players, for example. Maybe they don't need any additional lineman.
I personally don't see what everyone is bitching about - with the film. And I dare to say I've watched as much film in my life as most people here.

You do know that this site is fortunate to have many recruiting experts who are qualified to disagree with the LSU coaches?

Heh....Well, I can't talk too much shite b/c I am known to criticize the recruiters at times myself.

Why do people get sand in their vagina when a coaching decision is questioned or discussed?
It's a message board. That is what message boards are for.

I think many of you are being overly harsh with this kid though. I'm not just arguing to be an a-hole (although I DO do that at times).
Posted on 7/18/08 at 10:57 am to Mr Clean
I don't see the hate either. He looks like he is a great prospect and his video looks pretty damn good. He is making mistakes that you would expect of a 6'7" junior in High School. Mistakes that can be corrected though. You can't teach size and power which he clearly has.

Not angry at all, just very amused. Like when some of you express anger when LSU makes a decision to offer a kid.

Cash. Theres no sand in the vagina. You disagree with the coaches, some disagree with you. Your right its a message board. We send messages back and forth to offer a different point of view. I appreciate your point of view, it helps me look at things differently. When we disagree it becomes a debate where both sides offer evidence to support their opinion. Often times I change my mind on previous opinions because others offer more sound evidence to support their opinion than I had for my own. Take it easy man.

1. I wasn't talking to you.
2. I never said one way or the other if I think Wilford is a good prospect.
3. If the only response someone can come up with is to the effect of "well if you know more than the coaches why don't you send in your resume" why bother going to a message board. These boards are for anyone no matter how intelligent or retarded it is to give their thoughts/opinions.
eta: 4. Fill free to disagree with me, it doesn't bother me one bit when someone gives their opinion on a prospect.

They might see him as a guard where as everyone else is evaluating him as a tackle.....sort of like Herman Johnson...? Obvioulsy the coaching staff saw smthg they liked because they know better than anyone the type of talent they can pull in.

Its cool cash, Im not trying to jump on anyone. I just think its funny that people get so bent out of shape when someone disagrees with them (not you specifically). Everyone has their own opinions. I like to hear theirs and I like to give mine. As for the coaches opinions, im sure they are wrong at times as most humans are, but I also think they have more evidence to base decisions on than most others on this board.

I agree, which is why it is aggrivating when someone says stuff like "glad you know so much more than the coaches."

Linemen are hard to project by paid scouts. I'll trust Les and Studs on this one.
Many thought this kid would never play...

And many thought this kid would start after a RSF year...

The next top D lineman at LSU?

Coach Studs last year:

In his first year with the Tigers in 2007, Studrawa helped mold the Tiger offensive line into one of the most consistent in the Southeastern Conference. Featuring a pair of first time starters at right guard (Lyle Hitt) and right tackle (Carnell Stewart), LSU managed to average nearly 440 yards of offense per game, including 214.1 yards a game on the ground. As a unit, the Tiger offense set a total of 10 school records in 2007, including total points and total yards.

And we didn't offer the Green kid that nick signed last year.

I think most of these responses are to the drama-queens who go in meltdown over their analysis of an old 3"x2", poorly shot Internet video...proclaiming that the coaching staff, who just saw the kid work out in person, horribly dropped the ball on the offer.
