Mackey is from the same area as Matherne. You would have never "heard" of Mackey either if yall hadnt recruited him.

Just sayin i knew about Mackey including his older brothers. When that same Port Sulphur team came up north and beat some teams up here in the playoffs again Just sayin..

Who said anything about Leesville winning state? All I said was if Leesville beaten Zachary and played Bastrop in the quarters, Ford would have more than likely broken the single-season rushing record and probably won Mr. Football.

bastrop2005, I think my post came off as if I were downing Mackey. I'm a supporter of the kid and I hope he does great. I'd rather him not end up at Ole Miss and maybe at a non SEC school but I wish him the best of luck.

Exactly, i think he would thrive in the Big12 offenses. Quick release, a cannon for a arm and very mobile.

I hear what ya was sayin and for the most part you were right. What people dont know is Mackey was a shy kid that didnt even want to call the plays on the field when he first got here and had a stuttering problem. He grew up alot while he was at Bastrop. If you ever met him personally you would be very impressed. He is not 'dumb' as some people say that dont even know the kid. Just going off what they hear.
