This PFF graphic likely looked a bit different after last season, at least between Heard and Jones. I’m sure his much improved play this season bolstered his grade quite a bit.
You like to say I “hated” Heard. I just didn’t think he earned the right to be catered to in his freshman year. He was given an opportunity and didn’t beat out Jones. The he left. How he played last season and how he played this year are two completely different stories.
After this growth over the last year, I would have liked to have seen him back here for next season. A lot of OL take 2 years of development to reach their full potential. I get that he has a high price tag, but LT is a position to pay for.

I was addressing the specific LH question.
You’re asking a question about an ongoing process with the mindset that LK and his staff don’t have specific plan in place, targets in mind.

It was posted somewhere officially that Lane/LSU was not interested in Heard.
But yes, that was no doubt in big part because of the price he was demanding. But he did not seem to be CLK’s type of offensive lineman.

During a season with less roster upheaval and without so many needs, I bet we would pay him. I think it may just be a this year problem.
