I just can't see it here.
New Orleans isn't really our backyard like Dutchtown is. Not with Reid's level of success. Not with LSU's level of success. Alabama doesn't have anything to sell this kid this time.
If Curtis was his coach, and the kid had a history of anti-LSU behavior, maybe. Even with the Janzen Jackson recruitment, I knew Lance had no respect for the staff, and that played a significant role with that decision. Boy, what a huge mistake that was!
There's just too many ways an OOS commitment could have been handled better. It would be reckless beyond belief for him to put on an Alabama hat come Thursday.
You're right. Sometimes the worst happens, but in this case, it won't be for LSU. It will be for Alabama, or for Collins. That's his decision.

The kid handled an OOS commitment about as well as any kid that highly rated that I can remember.
Sure, he might be the exception to the rule if he chose LSU, but you either don't know history or schematics very well, if you can't see what the kid is thinking.

Every time anyone gets worked up over what a Super Stud recruit does I think about the guys you listed above. Everyone was bitter, rejected and acted as if it was the end of the world when those two guys went elsewhere. Sure, those guys were studs but so what? Would either have gotten LSU to an SEC title? What about "can't miss" guys who do come and then have an injury derail them ala Amp Hill?
Let the kid go where he wants. It's his life and LSU will survive and thrive regardless. If LC is as great as everyone claims, he doesn't have to worry about pissing off the people of Louisiana. If he's that good, he'll make a lucrative living in the NFL.

Sorry, I don't buy ANY of this crap about his girlfriend, his momma, his dog or his cat, or any of these reported influencers. I think he is having the time of his life yanking EVERYONE's chain (and I am confident it is a family conspiracy including the girlfriend) but in the end he will chose the school that best advances his career. All of his family and close friends will embrace his decision. I think it will be LSU. (of all of his Twitter banter the only "tweet" I thought was significant was a one word tweet - "yes").
