who is downvoting this?
He would have been behind 3-4 guys who were better than him at a minimum.
he went somewhere he could start as a freshmen

Gorilla Ball is back! Sort of....

Federico **might've** gotten some early PAs vs. LHPs since Pearson, Brown, and Larson are all LHHs. But judging by his offensive output, Pearson would've been the guy starting in SEC play vs. LHP and Federico would've been fighting with John P. for PH spots.

Looks like he was highly regarded and was off to a good start as a freshman before an injury. Probably expected a big jump and pressed being a DES, but lit up their regional.

That puts the roster at 38/34. As of now it is 18 position players and 20 pitchers.

One of my favorite things to see is portal commits to our conference foes taking UDFA deals. Maddox Latta just signed a UDFA deal to avoid going to College Station.

I counted 37 unless Aase still counts even with a medical redshirt
19 returners
10 recruits (freshman/juco)
8 transfers

13 position players without counting incoming freshman. That is unreal depth. A lot of veterans as well. Can we just fast forward to next season already!!

Jay cleaning up in the portal as usual, but I wish he would bring back the Tiger Emoji. Love the drama.

He was very highly thought of out of high school. One of the big reasons he made it to college was the expectation that he would only be there two years.

I doubt Aase will be in the roster if he’s taking a medical redshirt
the other Question mark is Fontenot.
is he coming back?

On my numbers I am counting Aase for now until we can get clarity on the new rules with the roster. Aase will be out the fall but he will be back throwing and ready for spring with no set backs. So not sure if he will be a medical or not. He had surgery in December.

I thought we were done with position players before Yorke. I figured we would see some portal action once the draft was done, but thought it would be a pitcher or two. There could be some attrition, or compete and the best 34 stick 12/1.

Fontenot and Benge could still sign UDFA contracts.

i was hoping we weren’t
this morning i was looking at our roster like “who the frick is going to hit”
and also looking at Simpson’s game log like “he has not played a lot of P5 teams”

Yeah, redshirting (can or cannot) will play a big role.

what is the policy for that? if you aren’t on the roster can you practice and be around the team at all?
so we just have no idea?

I was thinking the same thing. Wondering if maybe they are going after that and maybe with some help from LSU just to help make some room.

We're waiting on the NCAA and the government to provide clarity.
So by sometime in 2036 we should get the 2026 roster rules nailed down.
