Anyone know what Schmidt’s plans are for the summer? Are they allowed to be coached during the summer or only voluntary workouts?

i think they said they had a very specific work out plan for his
probably trying to gain some
muscle and work on control

My guess would be nutrition and weight room. Could benefit from about 15 lbs in the offseason.

Since LSU has been burned a couple of times with pitchers only 2 years at LSU but meeting the age minimum to be drafted (Kade Anderson and Griffin Herring come to mind). I did some quick research on Marcos Paz. He was born in November 2006 so is 18 right now. For the 2026 draft, 19...2027 draft not yet 21. Thus if my understanding is correct, Paz would not qualify until after his 3rd year at LSU at which point for the 2028 draft he would be 21 also. Good news!

idk how you could say either of them burned us give they played a combined 4 seasons and won 3
NCs.
Also, Bremner is supposed to be signing for 7,689,525 which is 2.5 million under slot value and 1.2ish less than Anderson is supposed to sign for.
Washington also took 4 top 100 HS and i would imagine will be spreading their slot value around with wilkins taking 7-8.5 million of his 11.08 slot
NCs.

Yes, the only draft eligible sophomores from this class will be William Patrick and Zion Theophilus.

It is my understanding that Aug 1 is the date that determines DES status
If you’re 19 prior to that date, you qualify

basically the Anderson plan
If he could put in some muscle and add some velo with less effort it wouldn’t a long way with him
I think just a year with the coaches will do a lot too. he played tight and probably was whiteknuckling the baseball

The reason I used the phrase about LSU getting burned was that AGE was the only reason they were draft eligible. The old adage of 3 years out of HS isn't the only factor. And yes, I will stick with my term burned or shortchanged if you prefer that one, because in MANY cases, the player is at the school for 3 seasons...Anderson and Herring only 2 apiece.

Yea I was looking into this the other day. We have a super old team next season. These are the only guys who aren’t draft eligible after next season.
Reagan Ricken
Ethan Clauss
Marcos Paz
Omar Serna
Jack Ruckert
Mason Braun
Jonah Aase

I thought it was the day of the draft but July 15th or Aug 1st is not a lot of difference. You are talking minimum age with your 19 number apparently. I thought any HS graduate was eligible for the MLB draft and that must be the case because Paz was definitely eligible for the draft and he is STILL only 18 yo. I was referring to the other end of the process...guys already in college who are then eligible for the draft. For that, it is apparently 3 years out of HS OR 21 yo.

They meant 19 at the year they come out of high school. Yall are saying the same thing. If a kid is 19 coming out of high school and goes to school then the kid will be 21 by the sophomore seasons draft which makes them draft eligible.

Pretty sure Evans, Schmidt, Arrambide won't be either. Also, you missed a couple Freshman like Patrick and maybe another...

Not sure if you mean on the whole team or just spun the same thing I said with just the incoming recruits but even so that would be for the year after. They have plenty more than you named not draft eligible after next season.

The following were TR FR AND according to the age info I found, they will not be 21 until the 4th quarter of next year...thus, not draftable.
Arrambide C, and pitchers Schmidt, Evans, and Williams
While I was typing, BayTiger was posting essentially the same info with a couple of extras thrown in.

Appreciate that haha. I was just looking at the freshman. When do they have to be 21 by to be eligible for the draft?

You're not wrong, but a lot of two year guys can make the decision to come to college because it's only 2 years if they want.
