Area Code Games start today in California. This is the third big time summer scouting event this year after Team USA NTDP event and East Coast Pro. All three of these events are scout driven and not the PG/PBR pay-for-play type events.
For Area Codes and East Coast Pro the teams are divided up geographically and coached by MLB scouts, with one exception. MLB Breakthrough puts together a team that goes to all these events and pulls players from all over the country.
The LSU related players in the Area Code Games are listed below:
Athletics Masen Belding Commit
Brewers Striker Pence Target
Brewers Cooper Sides Commit
Brewers CJ Weinstein Commit
Rangers Brayden Wisener Target
Reds Dylan Blomker Commit
Royals Bradyn Cupit Commit
Royals Lucas Nawrocki Target
MLBB Will Adams Commit
MLBB Nate Davis Commit
MLBB Carter Hadnot Target
MLBB Dylan Minnatee Commit
MLBB Anthony Murphy Commit
Striker Pence I think is Hunter Pence's nephew, but he's a 2028 kid in the games with 2026s. There are a handful of 2027s, but Pence being there is kind of ridiculous. He's like 6'6" and throws 98. He's on the same loaded HS team as Anthony Murphy.
