One big difference is that Holbrook was a later add to the staff. Elander has been there since Tony got there. They had a crazy run of staff continuity and as he stayed there he absorbed more and more responsibilities.

I think they will be fine. They make a slight step back, but they won’t fall off the map either.
The whole “search process” was so strange though. Do you think White really wanted to do an extensive search but just underestimated the groundswell of support Elander had? Or maybe he’s thinking give him this year and if goes poorly do a much more thorough search next summer?

It’s this. He wanted a clean break. He has no relationship with Elander. Barely had one with Tony after he fricked him on the Maui Ahuna stuff. He made Tony pay for legal representation out of pocket and then covered Heupels costs for the same thing 6 month later.
White wanted someone else. (Personal opinion ensues here) I think he got told the money will stay with Elander and the next coach will have to re-earn it.
Despite what some national media think, it’s not a top tier job. The program got elevated by a tour de force, but it’s going to take the next guy, in this case Elander, being successful to make it a top tier job.
Danny White just got educated on how to discern a good program from a good job.

Speaking of rings, @LSUbaseball tweeted (X’d?) all 8 of our NC rings. Was pretty funny seeing the evolution of those things lol. The newest one is HUGE

Heard Holden Hering is in town . Not sure if that would be it or not . 2025 Top 50 RHP freshman at Weatherford Juco.

I don't know. I looked for info on that but never found anything. He was really highly rated, so it's unlikely Tech just cut him loose. He did end up at a top tier JUCO. I wonder if it's draft related and recruiting him is pissing in the wind.
One thing to note about our currently committed JUCO pitcher is that he was drafted and could still sign with the team that drafted him through the recently re-implemented JUCO draft and follow rules. It came up last year with Drew Pestka from John A Logan that we recruited but he committed to Tennessee, he ended up signing with the Reds before the spring semester started and pitched in the minors last year.
