BUT, I must say this does show how down the state is on talented linemen
Or that your talent evaluation needs improvement.
Mills best offers were LaTech, Tulane, and Southern Miss.
Robinson has offers from Arkansas and LSU as a junior.

This past season was Robinson's 1st year really playing football. He is every bit of 6'6" 285 as a 16 year old junior. Could he play right now? The answer would be no but the upside is tremendous. He came out 2nd in state for the shot put last year with a sore back.

This kid is pretty legit. Between him, Corey White and La'el Collins LSU wont have to leave the state next year for O-line
thats never the problem. it's coaching them up.
Did your coach coach you up?

imo he is the 2nd best OL in the state for this class and when collins is the best, the 2nd best is pretty good. would definitely take him over white from capitol or austin, and they are both not bad either. hopefully we take 3, but if we just get collins and robinson those are a sweet pair of bookends
Nice analysis. You are bound to get a marriage proposal from some of the guys on this board.

1. How good is this kid supposed to be? Has decent size, but nothing earth-shattering?
6'5 285 and is only 16 from what I hear. What the hell would you call good size?

Mills was too small if I remember correctly. He was very close to receiving an offer. He seems to be doing quite well at La Tech.
If Robinson truly is 6'5 280ish as a Junior....then that is damn good size with time to improve those numbers even more so before he steps on campus.

He is legit 6'5 more closer to 6'6 now. He will be in the 320ish range or bigger at some point in his career.

dude, you admitted that you started for 1 or 2 years of shitty high school football 40 years ago. would you shut the frick up with pretending like you were Mike Ditka and everyone else on here was in the marching band?

Yeah you got me ;).
Greg Robinson = Impressive running 40 times, Benching a ton of weight, squatting a ton of weight, etc at combines, on the field not so impressive YET. The dude has the talent I'm just worried he dosen't play physical enough.
Jordan Mills = Not as impressive in camps as Robinson running 40's, on the field though he dominated a bayou district against better dlinemen.

Mills is bigger than Robinson GUARANTEED. He was 6'6 300 coming out of high school, he's 6'6 325 now.
I'm not saying Greg's a bad player and won't play at LSU, cause in time he certainly can and will play well. I'm just saying that talent wise he's around guys like Mills and Dallas Thomas. Guys that are good and borderline LSU quality and had it been a good year for linemen in the state he would probably be waiting around for an offer through his senior season, an offer that may never have come.

It was his first year playing OL. Just watched Robinson's film from their game vs St. Aug and this kid is a top 100 player next year imo
Posted on 12/18/09 at 1:06 pm to Books
The combine numbers alone are good enough to put him as a top 5 OL in the nation next year... I don't know if everyone realizes how good those numbers really are for a combine

Does he project as a tackle or guard?
Posted on 12/18/09 at 2:53 pm to Stonepony
Im just glad we are getting commits from HUGE arse offensive lineman. We were really light this year.

he will be moved to guard next year

Talked with Thibodaux's AD today and he confirmed the offer and also said that LSU is where Robinson wants to go. Nothing on him committing though.

Mills was bigger than Robinson at 6'6 312, I've seen Robinson play, and to me he is soft as cotton, looks lost on the field, ive seen him get his but kicked along with that Thib o-line that reed made look so good
