If I were a college coach, I would only recruit high school prospects that I think can play right away. If someone needs development, then go get developed somewhere else.

It's only a matter of time before the high school prospects figure out that it's much better to go to a team that they will 100% get to start on than to sit the bench at a higher profile program and not play.

When it's their time to play at the high profile program, the coaching staff will just go sign an experienced player from the portal.

i agree. Not playing as a freshman is not an indictment at all for a lineman.

He was also a 4* recruit. That designation will always boost the appeal of transfers considerably, regardless of their track record in college.

He was a highly prized recruit only a year ago. He’s had a year in a weight and nutrition program, he’s experienced a year in the life of a college athlete, and he’s now more mature, and still has four years of eligibility.

In many ways he’s a more prized recruit than he was coming out of high school.
