I don't think same is projected to be a 1st rounder this year.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
It's a very weak draft for DLs this year and many draft experts, including Mike D have Sam in the mid to late first round. Many of the boards don't have him listed because he is a soph.
There's been speculation on Brockers as well.

Nah dude, Sam is projecting over Coples. You're talking as high of a draft pick as Mo. He's gone.

Don't get me wrong - would be awesome, but his dad is a Nole. Really?
Not that big of a deal. His dad played under Bowden and Mickey Andrews, not Jimbo and his crew.
Main reason he committed to them so early on was because it was the first place he visited and he was enamored by the college environment and they were pimping girls out to him.
He's going to love the college atmosphere in BR. A big reason he axed OU was because it wasn't fun there, neither in Norman nor playing for Stoops. He'll have lots of fun playing for Miles, in a 4-3 defense, and in BR. Our chances are pretty good and we get his last visit

I don't get why the threads keep getting anchored.
Subject lines must be more descriptive.

Mario live on ESPNU now.
Interview over. He said he is verbally committed but is looking and listening. Says he doesn't like when he tells teams that he's no longer interested and they continue to pursue him (Oklahoma?!)

This class would be insane if we could land Edwards and Collins.

A finish of Kiel, Howard, Edwards, Phillips, and Collins would be crazy. Like, "no way you could make that up" crazy.

I think Sam leaves for sure. He is going to be a first round pick.
I really don't think he would be yet. He looks so thin out there, comparatively obviously. If he does come out though, I would love for the Saints to sneak and get him somehow.

Joke?
Man looks like a straight terminator out there. Has a motor like Dorsey too. I love you Sam

Is it official that LSU gets his last visit?
Posted on 1/2/12 at 7:12 pm to LSUlunatic
Yes
FSU gets the 21st
LSU the 28th
Unless he wants to squeeze one last visit in there before NSD, we will get the last one

No
I'm not denying he's a beast with great ability. Just seems a little light in the arse is all.

Id agree with this. Im not sure he has the size yet to hold the edge on 1st and 2nd down in the NFL. I havent compared his weight so i dunno.
He could probably walk on to most teams on 3rd down right now with his speed.

Sam has one hell of a bullrush, but hasn't shown much more. The only other competition is Coples, and Quentin is slower worth the same strength. Moffit has our guys deceptively strong for their size.
You're selling Sam short. He has elite speed for a DE.

MEj named his order of Texas, LSU, FSU in that order according to sources
Lets clarify this... He said, "Because I visited Texas, Texas would be at the top and then LSU and FSU."

Wow if he is saying this and he hasn't visited yet. I think he would be LSU TO LOSE AFTER he gets on campus. This is getting good.

From the ones that i've seen projecting where he would go, I believe the consensus is that he would benefit from another year in college BUT, because this is such a weak draft for D linemen, he would be one of the first selected and would go pretty early in the first round.
Posted on 1/2/12 at 8:51 pm to ffishstik
Back to Mario, Texas already has 25 commits. Does it matter?
Posted on 1/2/12 at 8:53 pm to ffishstik
Texas doesn't have the 25 limit. Its only SEC schools.
